Oh my gosh! This manga is so chaotic! Like wow! Also out of the blue a memory came to my head and I cannot believe I totally forgot it. But I remember reading a series called Pixie Pop, which is about a girl who is trying to win the heart of her crush with the help of a magical drink spirit who gives her the abilities that whichever drink she drinks would give her powers depending on the drink. I don't know if you read it or not, but it is quite a read I can tell you.

I enjoy the fact that she’s over the top, but she definitely needed a love interest who could match her energy (or at least go along with her antics without kicking and screaming). It could’ve been a romance about an average guy going on wacky adventures with his rich and eccentric girlfriend; and though she makes his life crazy, he has fun and (openly) loves being with her.

I had the first two volumes of this series! I remember donating them because I didn’t like the story or characters anymore. I could have sworn her name was spelled as “Kokona”, but obviously I don’t have the volumes to confirm. I also vividly remember the laptop breaking shenanigans! The manga artist also did art for an otome ds game called “Princess Debut”.

This is why I can't fully immerse myself into the shoujo aesthetic. As much as Shoujo or Josei represent Femininity, they always come with questionable plots esspecially characters full of red flags. Like ppl in these stories are always insane and unlikeable to the extreme, and we are always expected to overlook these things.

It was never made into an anime, but it had a Power Rangers-like magical girl main character, a Kirby lookalike pet, and a fascinating love side story theme as well!!! Plus, its mangaka, Tamayo Akiyama, was originally a member of the mangaka group CLAMP. You should review that next!!! cocona is giving christine hanakomachi (an icon tbh) if chris was the actual love interest and not a side character who just Thinks she's the love interest. i really enjoy ridiculous selfish delusional girls, i think they're hilarious so cocona wouldn't really bother me as a protag especially since this manga seems very gag-driven. it definitely should've kept cocona as an active hindrance in this poor guy's life as opposed to playing it straight with reciprocated romance though
