I think the thing that make Grus so likeable (for me atleast) is how he’s been depicted so far in the series….he’s seasoned in comparison to Koby (refusing to give him backup to go to Hacinosu and realizing the Shiryu trap) which gives him this really nice balance between very kind hearted *like* Koby, but without all the naivety. He lowkey kinda feels like Kobys Ace for lack of a better comparison

Dude they showcased Garp exactly how he should be shown as! Holy shit did they make him look so badass & like such a fucking monster of a man!.. the part where he just blasts his aura outward, where he’s just exuding CoC haki out the ass & starts bull rushing Kuzan & everyone else all at once & is just moving so fast & with such power & force that you just see this massive bright red zigzagging line covering the entire damn island! He was moving so fast with such force there, & they definitely animated that perfectly & really show cased just how OP he really is there, & I fucking loved it! lol shit was dope. Also.. idc what anyone says.. that was certainly CoC from Koby when he did the Honesty Impact!.. it HAS to be. Also it makes sense narratively that it should be too.. if Luffy is the new gen Roger (but even more OP even..), than Koby is the same to Garp honestly, & it’s about time that he finally taps into his true potential power & breaks out a move that’s on par with the level of a Yonko first commander. He needs to currently be that powerful right now at least to be relevant to the plot & play his part narratively. Koby needed to get a massive power boost & upgrade real bad, so I think it’s only right & makes sense to me for him to have Kings haki, & learn how to use it, essentially fully inheriting Garp’s mantle.

he was at the bottom of the hill closer to the main land, but he did scale the entire town going up hill to get up there and split a mountain in half in the manga, and in the manga he speed blitzed aokiji, in the anime he stunned him. Tbh I love the speed portrayal here because even in the manga you felt it and it was beautifully captured here. Regardless everything portrayed in the anime garp should be capable of the same way luffys lightning scenes in the anime dont contradict what he can do with his powers which is why even if it isnt cannon people can say luffy can do it since it doesnt go against the characters powers.
