This is another great video. The pink stuff was interesting. Now I know what to do with my outdated fluorescent fixtures. I'm lucky I didn't throw them out.

Everything you reviewed was very interesting! I was surprised at how well the Pink Stuff cleaned up the bell at brought it almost back to new. I saw 357 Magdad's scraper tutorial and you are right, he really knocked the ball out of the park! I was really impressed with how well his mini lathe is working on making wooden handles. Thanks for sharing this.

Regarding the Pink Stuff, I have used Go-Jo for years for removing a multitude of dirt and grime from surfaces. I have used it on my laundry for tough stains and even coated my vehicle with it gently by hand on a hot day (hot day is important) to remove asphalt. (I was working in the paving industry at the time and the mist from tack spray would eventually cover my truck. It carries with the wind for a long distance) On a good hot day, Go-Jo actually melts asphalt mist and liquid asphalt splatters from paving operations. Wash your vehicle well after the asphalt begins to run and it will truly shine. And, always add a good wax job after stripping the surface. Finally, my question; I wonder if the Pink Stuff is any better or about the same. Go-Jo is not that expensive. Thanks.

Yes- GoJo is very similar to Goop. 😃👍

Also scout, or anyone else on here. I have a body shop and at my paint suppliers you can get windex, purple storme storme, tire shine, a wash and wax, aluminum (acid) cleaner and other stuff like that in a concentrated gallon. I'm thinking the windex is a 10:1 mix, I make it up 2:1 and use it for a degreaser before I paint. the purple storme @ 50/50 (and I know how you like your 50/50 stuff) will burn your eyes. It needs to be 10:1. All of the above are pennies on the dollar. They also sell the good spray bottles. Not to mention they can mix you up any color and put it into a rattle can along with a 2K clear coat.

I have used several chain hoists but never heard of the jack before. Gravity would compound the problems that the hoists have which isn't many but dirt and gravity would not make that design an easy thing to deal with.
@lewiemcneely91437 ай бұрын
Go9d one. I'll stick with Rain-X and not flouresents except 4-foot grow lights. The curly ones will burn your house down. They almost did ours. And the jack is a chain fall turnes sideways! From evening before last till last night/this morning we got 6- count SIX inches so God Bless You!

Hi John. Pink make a whole range of good value cleaning products but you need to get your hands on some "Elbow Grease". It is a degreaser and general cleaner but it's uses are amazing such as getting brake dust off alloy wheels, cleaning oil and grease from tools etc. Cheap as chips in the UK and environmentally friendly but we'll worth the price.

Well, that makes a change John, we're on the right side for once with the "Pink Stuff", usually I see an excellent product reviewed by your good self only to find it's prohibitively expensive here in the UK, so I know how you feel ! I'm glad it worked well for you, as you say it does a similar job to many products but they all have their niche ! The bell came out great ! There seems to be a whole load of "expanding" ( or concentrated ) products released recently sold on the basis of being environmentally friendly as they cost less to ship, after all many liquid cleaning products are primarily water ! The light fittings are a bargain, as you say - easy conversion !

Hi John. Fun times in the big city. The Weed Jack is interesting. Not anything I have seen but clever. Pink is good. Not anything I would buy unless it was one of the garage sale bargains. 😁 We had a similar light to your fluorescents in the milk house in our old barn. Kept the water from blowing the bulb when they were washing down after milking. It had a quart Mason jar as the cover. Must be the original broke. Dehydrated cloth? Something new and weird every day isn't there. I didn't think to ask before. Did you participate in the big earthquake? I have only been in one that was noticeable. Can't remember exactly but it was about 1980 or so. The grandfather clock started chiming but it wasn't the right time. Maybe 10 or 15 seconds. Michigan doesn't have many. 😁😎

Interesting history I was just reading about that jack, started with a guy name Harry Weed who invented tire chains and at some point they even challenged Houdini to escape from the chains. Not sure if he had anything to do with the jack or not other than his name being used, seems he sold the company in 1912 and all the ads I'm seeing for the jack are 1917-1920
@ScoutCrafter7 ай бұрын

They have the windshield wash concentrate in liquid form ive seen as well. I would personally never trust the tablets, im always leery about things dissolving completely aka laundry detergent pods, dishwasher pods, and in this case the windshield washer tablet. Im afraid all you need is alittle crumb you missed dissolving to get into the system and clog the orifice end thats narrow enough as is already.

Years ago to the best of my memory one of my suppliers carried the pink stuff. They were promoting it for cleaning Naugahyde. I do not remember the name but it worked well. I replaced many of your light fixtures in walk-in freezers. We used a19 incandescent 100 watt lamps in them. Anything else would collect moisture and freeze. I think that fluorescent bulb in yours was either a 13 or 18 watt. I know the 26 watts had 4 prongs. Great show Thank you

I've used the tablets once. With out the alcohol, they leave a residue on the windshield. They work best when added to the cheap washer fluid to boost the cleaning ability. Otherwise, I'm green washer fluid 'till September, than purple until April.

The pink stuff came to my local home depot and it was moderately priced tried it and it works well. I use a drill brush and it gives a better finish for sure. I most commonly use it on big Oops, scrapes, dried on oil based paint spills, and much more when my coworkers are careless. It's cheaper than replacing people's stuff for sure. That jack my grandpa had a few and he would use them with a electric motor tensioned on lumber to jack up the corners on barns buildings or pop out concrete from post holes they had some decent travel. Was if rinky dink yes but the old 38 international didn't have a winch and didn't feel like starting a tractor and driving it over.

The Pink Stuff did a good job on the bell, I think the Bon-Ami polish would do the same, and for far less. They don’t have it in the solid bar form any longer, just in the can, but it’s the same. Bon-Ami contains feldspar, and as far as cleaning goes does a very good job. There are two kinds, one is a cleanser similar to Comet, and the other is a polish. The polish does not contain chlorine and for most purposes is all you need. It will make glass sparkle, although you cannot use it on windshields; read the label. “Freeze dried windshield washer fluid”, what will they think of next?
