Scout, I must say, this video is truly outstanding, and I believe it's your finest work yet, especially your opening monologue. I made the switch from cable to KZbin Premium years ago to escape the horrible commercials and biased messaging. I watch every video you release. I'm confident I speak for all of your subscribers when I say that we're here to absorb knowledge, and you deliver it flawlessly. Your presentation style is incredibly effective. The information you share truly resonates with me. In fact, I've implemented many of the techniques and insights I've gained from your videos in my work life, even passing them along to my coworkers. I just wat to express my gratitude for the impact you've had on my learning journey. Thank you. "Once you stop learning, you start dying" -- Albert Einstein

John, add my hearty echo to the comments of all the encouraging commenters below. The depth and breadth of your knowledge is truly remarkable. You would likely be surprised by the number of times I say when watching your videos: “this guy is a genius!” Sometimes I feel down when I learn something that I thought I should have already known. But that’s what keeps us all young: the continuing search to learn, improve, share, and help others. Thanks for all you contribute to the community.

I feel the same way you do when I watch your channel, I think “ how did I miss that” then I get a little frustrated because I feel like I am behind and have a lot more to learn, and at 75 my time is limited, however I am not ever going to stop learning. Education is the realization that its not how much you know, but rather, how much you don’t know, it takes humility to be able to realize it, admit, It, and then doing something about it. Thanks for the video, enjoyed it.

Nicely done John. Both my grandfather and grandmother worked at Corning glass works in Corning, NY and i grew up about 20 minutes away. If you ever get a chance to go to Corning you have to check out the Corning Glass Museum and take a nice walk down Market Street and check out the glass blowers at work. These guys and gals are artists. While there you might as well enjoy a great lunch at Anniellio's Pizzeria or a nice dinner at Sorge's Italian Restaurant. These places have been there since the late 1940s and early 1950s. You won't regret the trip i promise. Man i miss home! Georgia doesn't have anyplace good to eat like that😂

Another great video John. We all have our interests and I hope we enjoy exploring the various facets of the subjects we like. I like to think that there is more than one way to solve a problem. Some are equally good and some are just plain wrong. It can take a long painful string of experiences to discover the good ones. Mostly because we have to allow ourselves to fail on the way to success. As kids we have to hit a lot of grounders before we can hold the bat and swing for the fence. Just the fact that you have different tools and experience in creating the various projects that you do means I get to piggyback on your knowledge and hopefully avoid a few of the fowl balls or three strikes that bedevil us all. Our community on KZbin is a unique opportunity to teach others while we learn. When the railroad began closing right of ways and the land either reverted to the previous owners or the state took over the property the telegraph poles were left to rot. Over time the poles were cut down or fell and the insulators were often left on the ground. As a kid I often found the insulators on my daily travels up and down the rails going through Coldwater. They were a common path for kids on the way too and from friends houses, parks, hunting areas and any adjacent property that a kid might want to see. (In other words everywhere.) I imagine I have at one time or another had maybe 25 different insulators. I wish I had the foresight to make lamps like your current project. Collinite 845 Wax: Going back my first paragraph. I would never know of its existence if I hadn't watched your video. Thanks again John.

I remember a visitor 20 years ago asked me if they could watch something on TV. I said alright, and started to set it up. I had to find the remote, put some batteries in it, work out the antenna, and tune in the channels by which time they had missed their story. My last smart TV had a bad antenna connection, but because I had not tuned in any channels by the time I found out, it was out of warranty. The TV content is simply a steady diet of animal programming and junk designed to stupify and degrade. There, got that off my chest.
