amazing setup! if you ever do get a new one make sure it is side opening because since they are aboreal they go to the top and make webs there so if u open from the top it could rip their webs

I love the set up!!! I just want to let you know if you don’t already know that you should get a cage that has a side opening so you don’t mess up your spiders web!! And also what fake plants should I use for my Pink Toe Tarantula?? 😅

My set up has the doors open front and the top and my pink toe decided to web from the door to the scull decoration I had on the floor. I felt so bad having to tear it down to open the front door

Also cross ventilation is incredibly important. Holes on the sides. I made this mistake my first time around with my pink toe, before eventually switching him to a tarantula cribs enclosure

I just one to...mine is pretty calm it's not at all what you think there little feet are actually kinda soft so it doesn't feel like a bug crawling on you more like a 8 legged pillow

Yes sometimes they will get their feet or fangs stuck in mesh tops. Usually causing dismemberment, sometimes death for the spider.

How long did you use this setup until you upgraded? Just wondering bc o have one and i see a lot of people have the ones with more ventilation and they also have the front door will i have to worry about them being on the roof of the enclosure?

They tend to build their webs near the top so a front opening enclosure is ideal as to not disrupt their work

A mesh lid on the top of the enclosure can be pretty dangerous for the tarantula as the 2 claws at the end of each leg can get stuck in the tiny holes in the mesh lid, so I recommend changing out the mesh for more bigger ventilation holes on the side. Or you can get a acrylic enclosure which is much better for this type of tarantula.

Tarantula cribsis always good. This type of enclosure isn't great for spiders, because no ventilation and mesh, but it's what I started with as well because that's what I was told to do 😂

@@AbbysArachnids yep that’s where I got my 2nd Tarantulas crib from lol some are a little pricey but most of all they’re worth it..another thing is I really wish they would stop selling the zoo med kit as a starter bc of the wire top I have to tell people that buy T’s from my job to look for a replacement home asap bc the one we sell (wire top) isn’t ideal for an arboreal tarantula..it’s just bad accident waiting to happen

I have the same set up for my pinktoe. So how often do you spray its home because I've never sprayed n he seems a lil small im kinda worried Im not taking care of him properly?

It's important to make sure his enclosure at least has a damp corner, but you need to make sure your enclosure has ventilation holes so that mold doesn't form and the air doesn't get stagnant. I would recommend getting a tarantulas cribs enclosure, or even just a big Tupperware container and poke many holes in the sides and top. I'll be posting a tarantula cribs unboxing soon so if you want you can always watch that video and I'll show you the quality of some of their enclosures, beautifully made 😊

Ya, probably shouldn't let him crawl on you for so long with such little control. Many in the hobby don't handle because of risks to the spider. I personally do handle, but you gotta be careful. She's an avic but she has a fat abdomen so a fall can still definitely kill her. I would hold her over my lap and position thw camera facing me. Just for the spiders sake ❤️😊

For slings I would not use this one, the smaller the better for slings, u can go to Hobby Lobby and get model car cases they make great enclosures like the one for my juvenile curly hair, they have different sizes, drill holes and that's it.

Dram vials are good for slings. The rule is 3x the spiders leg span so if arboreal, make it 3x tall 2x wide, if terrestrial, 3x wide 2x tall, fossorial, 3x wide and 3or 4x tall and add more substrate Slings burrow more so vials are best. 3x width and then just tall. Make sure their is moisture and if possible ventilation holes(at least put holes in the lid)
