Levy's been doing a great job of facilitating all of these. Asking the right questions to open up the other two, and commenting on the answers in a way that I'm sure a lot of us are thinking. All of it comes off really natural and genuine. I'm happy with my bike and don't live where an enduro bike would be appropriate, but I'm still watching these because I feel like it helps me learn more about bikes, and Levy's been a big part of that through this presentation style.

@@jarnold1789 Yeah I don't understand the constant comments attacking the commentators on a personal level, I want to chew them all out. They provide the information I seek in a great way. People act wild like they expect every presenter to be a Saturday Night Live personality or something. I'd love to see the same comment critiquers try to talk through their own youtube video I bet they'd all sound dead, flat, and boring having never practiced presenting content.

Levy!!! - Great job on the questions. This video seemed to have more of those deeper questions than the others. Deeper into the shock pressures, timed testing results vs. ride feel, reasons for differences in timed testing results, brake performance. Looking forward to the round tables. Great Stuff.

What fork & shock are you running? And do you flip the geo switch for park riding? I ride a lot of tech at parks and would worry about making the bottom bracket even lower than it already is in high geo.

@@307.William exactly what you said... you compromise the lively feeling of the bike to have more DH traits... being able to plow through things... so yes, can slow you down on the flats but gives higher speed in the tech.

@@mchong91 I still run my float X2. I’d like to try a coil but I’m already around 39lbs with DH rear tire and inserts. What happens to me is I’ll be hauling ass on a horse trail and hit a section that was crusty mud once. With all the hoof prints, holes and rocks I feel like my rear end slows me down. I would hope this link helps with that. I don’t like throwing money at a problem that is really a characteristic of the bike

This really makes me wish the Nomad made it to the test. The numbers are really close to the Patrol so I wonder how it compares. I’ve got three rides on mine and really like it but I was looking at a Patrol for quiet some time, if they had the carbon out last year I may have done it.

I was thinking the same thing at the onset of this series. A few of these bikes compare pretty favorably to the new Nomad being mixed wheeled, similar geometry specs, travel and whatnot! I've got a V6 frameset coming soon and can't wait to get it built up and give it a rip!

Why would a smaller wheel have less traction when climbing like mentioned at 2:45? If the tire and width is the same, how is a slightly bigger wheel going to have any influence on grip?
@blairburton12342 жыл бұрын
Surface area
@thermonuculur2 жыл бұрын
@@blairburton1234 Not quite as simple as "more surface area" since the tire can flex under your weight. The contact patch ends up being about the same for 27.5 and 29" tires of about the same width and pressure after the tire deforms. (research this for race car tires to find out why wider isn't always way better) Rollover is arguably better for a 29er vs 27.5, the biggest benefit of a 29er setup, which also helps the suspension not have to work quite as hard to maintain wheel-ground contact.
