As an east coast rider, these kinds of smooth wide open super fast trails blow my mind. Who needs a dirt bike when you can braap at > 20 mph on your mountain bike. Looks like so much fun!!

I was Sun Valley/Ketchum in ‘02. We went based on an article in Bike Mag. The climbing was crushing,but man was it fun(except for the rattlesnake that I ran over while he was sunning hisself on the trail. Boy was he pissed off!). We did an amazing ride in Jackson Hole on our way back home. That was a great trip! Looks like a lot has changed there since then.

At 1:40 they both hit the same jump. One of them has a silent landing... one of them sounds a lot like how I land every time. Super cool to see how clean and smooth he rides.

Pinkbike, This was awesome! Those Trails were awesome looking and the scenery was beautiful! Kyles in Boise now, so it gives you a good excuse to ride with him in another new place in Idaho!!

The three trails they did add up to like 7,000 ft climbing and they dont even look tired. just got back from Sun Valley / Ketchum and it was amazing. Every ride at least ~ 2,000 ft climbing so it can be limiting for normies. Sawtooth Lake even more amazing for backpacking.

1:20 Actually the worlds first chairlift was built in Nebraska. Union Pacific Railroad built the world’s first chairlift at its new Sun Valley Resort in 1936 based on a design by their lead bridge engineer. The two original single chairs were fabricated in the rail yards of Omaha and installed on Dollar and Proctor Mountains in time for the 1936-37 ski season. But as far as being the worlds first working chairlift that carried people...yes. As for the name...yes...it is that Proctor, as in Proctor and Gamble. The Proctor family still owns lots of property in and around Sun Valley.

New biker here. Are u just showing the trail after u bikes it to the top. Or do I drive to the top and then shuttle up. Or Loop back around so half the trail is coasting and half is uphill or how does it work. Thx. Sorry about the ignorance

What's his bike? It seems like it's written "rossignol", which makes mtb apart from ski equipment but not this model.. strange
@AprilRideMTB5 жыл бұрын
The bike I am on is a prototype Rossignol. 140mm travel 29 inch wheels. Rossignol bought Felt Bicycles about two years ago and has been working with them to learn the bike business. This is the first all new Rossignol and I have been having a lot of fun on it. They will primarily be focusing on the ski resort rental and fleet bike market but they have some awesome new models coming down the line! Let me know if you have any other questions!
@TimMaddux5 жыл бұрын
Yep, it's a Rossignol, which bought Felt last year. Check out Kyle's IG feed and you can find his photo of the bike he's riding, a 140mm 29er.

I grew up in Ketchum, Idaho about 1.5 miles +/- from Sun Valley, Idaho. Graduated high school in Hailey (1982). The trails in this video are on Bald mountain in Ketchum. Ended video chatting at the bottom of River Run in Ketchum. Sun Valley only has Dollar Mountain (hill). The great sking and mountain bike trails are in Ketchum NOT Sun Valley. Proud to be a Ketchum native.

Thx for the technicality. Local pride I guess. But yes u r correct. Sun valley is the ski resort. There are towns there, and sun valley is a resort, not the towns
