I have heard that colloidal silver is affective for pink eye. I know it has anti bacterial properties.
@Blue1Sapphire Жыл бұрын
Yes . .I make it myself using pure silver rods. . . 2 by 2mm x 7in long in a glass jar of distilled water. Attach each rod using alligator clips to a car battery or 3 x 9v battery. One to positive & one to negative. Keep the rods apart. Ions are then released via the electrolysis process. Wait 1 hr or until the water has a slight metal colour to it or taste test the water.. . Has that colloidal silver taste to it. I use it on any infection. . .seems to work. Best to catch the infection early if u can.

Thank you Sir for such an informative video on pink eye. I have a few sheep going through it now. You have relieved a lot of my concerns with the flock. Keep doing what you're doing on youtube.

I’m not sure. If it was a bacterial infection, maybe it just was not completely gone.

Fresh milk usually has just enough antibodies to fix pink eye. I’ve never used it with goats yet but it would be my first go to. A tiny bottle of fresh goats milk could be kept in the fridge in a dropper bottle. It’s an unusual remedy, but free. I would refill with fresh milk ever 3 days at least. I’m not sure how feisty a goats pink eye could get though.

I'm not too knowledgeable about sheep, terms, and diseases yet, but my five-week old bottle-baby came down with pink eye last night. I'd like to try the milk method you described, but I have questions. 1. Can store-bought cow milk be used? 2. Do you apply the milk to the eyeball, or would you just feed it to them?

Can u please write the prescription you did treat the animals

For pinkeye I do not treat with anything. If it is viral (which it usually is), it just has to run its course. Takes 2-5 weeks for it to clear up.

One treament has always worked for my animals. 1/2 to 1 cc of antibiotic injected in to the third eye lid and a few drops on the eye ball. I use this in both cattle and goats

I just recently purchased boer goats. When I picked them up they were nice & healthy, lived in a low cut field. I brought them to my field where the field is tall and plenty of brush to eat. Two days after having them I noticed bugery cloudy semi shut eyes. I figured change of field might have caused irritation maybe wind picked up and they got something in there eyes. Should I let it run it's course and hopefully they'll recover if not what do you recommend?
@rollingofarm11 ай бұрын
It is possible it is from irrigation from foreign debris, but my guess it is viral pinkeye caused by the stress of the move. I would also guess that is will run its course. If mild, a few days, if it develops into a severe case, 4-5 weeks. I don’t know much that is really effective in treating it if viral.

@@rollingofarm I appreciate the quick response! Right now they're eating/drinking fine. I clean they're bugery eyes with a damp towel just to keep it clean. I also found a natural remedy to work as an immune booster and giving it to them as well. I'm just worried because few are pregnant
