Nice reaction from you for a first Pink Floyd experience. First time listeners of this song (Time) almost always have the same reaction. At first, surprise (the chimes), then wait and / or impatience for 2 minutes (Intro). Then the lyrics begin, and surprise, expectation and impatience take on their full meaning, Time runs out inexorably, and nothing can be done about it. It doesn't matter where you come from, what social rank you’re from, what country you’re from, the color of your skin, the language you speak, whether you’re a believer or not, time never discriminates. In the face of TIME, we are all equal.

Its ends suddenly because the next track follows on without pausing, as do most Floyd songs. Each song builds on the previous one, so start at the beginning of the album and listen to each track in order. You never know what to expect with Floyd, they take you to another place and make you think.

That's just one track off the masterpiece album Dark Side of the Moon But as each track transitions into the next you really need to tackle it in two parts (side 1 / side 2) I know that's sounds excessive but Pink Floyd is one of two of the greatest rock bands ever from Britain and DSotM is one of their greatest albums.

I've seen Pink Floyd live in concert 3, Times . They are the epitome of live concerts. Something that is unforgettable , and could only be described if you seen it. A stage show that is of another world. It's really not the end. The whole album/ songs are a continual theme and story. To do it justice you should listen to the whole album.

The name of this English band was chosen in the 1960s by co-founder Syd Barrett. It was his homage to his favourite American black blues musicians, Pink Anderson and Floyd Council.

Peyemi............ Read the lyrics on their own with out the music.See the message it gives to young people. Im 65 and grew up with this and at the first time of hearing this didn't really acknowledge the powerful lyrics. Trust me you will not grasp this until you are on an old woman and you assess how your life has flown by. It speaks pure truth when looking at the average humans life. So you now have the knowledge to make sure your life is NOT a waste of time .
