@brucetucker48475 ай бұрын
Standard practice in the UK back then was not to include singles on albums. It's why you have different US and UK versions of all the early Beatles and Stones albums. When I first acquired Piper (on vinyl) it was a Japanese half-speed master - quite the rare find in the US back then - and the Japanese release included See Emily Play at the end of the album. It was years before I learned that US and UK releases did not have it until the 40th anniversary CD with bonus tracks came out - and even then it's on the 3rd disc with the bonus tracks. I can't imagine listening to the album without that song closing it out.

I would just like to say, as a lifelong musician, music lover and a lifelong Floydian ... Thank you for all the music, Roger, David, Rick, Nick and Syd. Obviously, when you were all united as a force to be reckoned with as Pink Floyd, in all three incarnations of the band, and for all your solo albums, even you Nick 😊 All the Floyd boys for your pioneering live shows, your personalities, your uniqueness and depth of insight into the human condition. Pink Floyd, the best band of the 20th and 21st century! David by far the best guitarist of all time, although naturally he would disagree, for your wonderful voice and your smile. Roger, one of the greatest lyricists of any band, your unique vocal style and musical genius. Rick, for your soul, emotive playing and harmonies with David, especially on my favourite track 'Echoes.' Nick, for your drumming, although minimal at times, and expansive when needed. It's all about the spaces! For your natural sense of humour, as 99.9% of us drummers have, and for playing all those pre DSOTM songs with your amazing band 'A Saucerful of Secrets, ' especially those songs that were penned by Syd, some of which had never been played live before. Absolute genius and such a wonderful treat for all Floyd fans both young and old alike! Saw you play at The Roundhouse on your first tour. Never in a million years, when I first heard 'True' by Spandau Ballet back in the 80's would I have said that one day Gary Kemp would be playing Syd Barrett songs, as well as such Floyd classics like 'Echoes!' In my humble opinion, Gary does a fantastic job too! Guy Pratt, big shoes to fill, but you've gone above and beyond since 1987. Big respect, plus you're married to Rick's daughter. Glad to have walked this planet earth 🌏 at the same time as all three incarnations of the band, and having been a part of the Floyd's journey since 1968. RIP Syd the originator and Rick the soul of the band 🙏🏼 The music of Pink Floyd will live on until the end of time. ✌🏼 ❤️ 🎶 🌸 🎸 🥁 🎤 🎹 🥪 🍵 🐮 🐂 ⌚ 🎧🎷🐶🐑🐽 💨🌬️🪟🫱🏻🫲🏽🍃 🌝 🎺🎼🍸🐄🍷
