Sonic Adventure 2 - Hero Bosses

Well, I received a couple of requests at one point to record the bosses of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, so a couple nights ago I went ahead, loaded up All Bosses mode, and recorded. I've divided the video up into three pieces so it'd fit on KZbin nicely, and conveniently enough, two lovely points to divide the video were after the Hero Bosses and after the Dark Bosses.
The bosses of Sonic Adventure 2 Battle... are like a black eye on the game, as they reveal just how frustrating certain annoying aspects of the game can be. These include... horrid camera angles getting you killed (Sonic vs Shadow at Green Forest is a big offender here), the light-dash throwing off what you were trying to do because almost everything is controlled by the B button (any Sonic or Shadow boss).
Some of the bosses are just annoying in concept too, like the Knuckles vs Rouge fight. It would've been fine if they didn't go floating up into the small platforms. I realize Knuckles and Rouge spend all their levels hunting things, but did their battle have to include hunting for each other when the camera loses all control? The hit detection is also questionable on that battle.
There was a time where I found Tails vs Eggman on the ARK the hardest fight in the game... I eventually learned a strategy that worked out nicely, but it's really the only way to avoid getting beaten up badly.
One thing I'm curious about is if it's possible to kill King Boom Boo without hitting the hourglass more than once. I've come within half a second of performing it a few times, but I can never seen to go fast enough... three hits is easy to pull off, but I really wonder if four is possible. The boss is a really slow fight, especially for those who have no idea what they're doing against him.
Some of my strategies are sloppy, some work quite nicely, feel free to learn from the ones you like, and I hope you...

He's got two upgrades, one on each arm. One is the Fire Ring which allows him to break iron crates, the other is the Bounce Bracelet, which allows him to bounce up and down to get to higher locations... due to Sega's obsession with the B button doing everything, that bounce bracelet is a menace for mid-air light dashes.

Well yeah... XD I practically rack up that many lives by the time I've gone and gotten a few A Ranks. XD Once you get good enough at the game, you only tend to die repeatedly when playing around looking for glitches. XD ...and if I don't have 99 before recording I usually just take a quick stop to Pumpkin Hill to get one or two, cause there's a guarenteed 1-up buried under where you found the Shovel Claws.

Pretty good fights!! It is possible to got a one hour glass on Boom Boo.... just insainely hard :( BTW, why did you use such boring strats for Shadow 2? Could have light dashed through him, or homing attacked repeatedly.....

You'd be surprised how fast the homing attack strat is. The SGDQ 2016 speedrun on youtube does the fight in 17 seconds with well times homing attacks.

I personally liked these battles. Sure they were frustrating especially the knuckles rouge fight, but it just goes to show how both of you are on equal footing, and at times it can be really hard to beat your equal.

Both sides (Hero and Dark) have the same bosses. The only diffrence is that on Hero, you fight Kind Boom Boo, but on Dark, they replace him with another GUN robot (Rouge fights him).

I'd just Bounce Bracelet him if the camera wasn't so terrible... XD He doesn't know how to dodge it! I figured out a couple of days ago that the homing attacking works though... XD I never knew. And about King Boom Boo... the jumping was just me expressing my boredom when running around the pillar, since going at full speed wastes time... XD The fight is slow and boring... XD

For Air Necklace: In Aquatic Mine drain the water to its lowest level, then look in the main chamber for a big Warning sign. Behind this warning sign there should be a small hole you can fall into with a spring at the bottom, if this isn't the case you're at the wrong warning sign. Down there there's a tunnel full of water, the Air Necklace is at the end of the water-filled tunnel. You have to make it before time runs out... it'll be a close call so be prepared to try a couple times.

Actually, it is possible to plant four hits on King Boom Boo wihout hitting the hourglass more than once. I do that quite frequently. But actually, the Sonic vs. Shadow fights are my favorite battles in the game. Especially the last one.
