Oh I love how sweet you were with the rooster, he was so cute! You guys are so kind relocating him. Wow, the prices of the lotions and stuff in that store were crazy expensive. I know my health food stores have jacked up prices, but that was really bad. Love your vlogs.

The way you held that rooster shows what kind of a person you are,caring and really compassionate. I feel so bad for him having to relocate. I too have have had pain in the ass neighbors who gave us grief for feeding feral cats but we trapped them and got them homes and kept just 2 that we care for. I hope he will be ok.

kohlrabi: peel off tough outer skin, slice thin or thick and eat raw, very refreshing golden beets: beetroot, so prepare as you would them (boil in skin then peel and eat hot or cold, good sliced cold with cheese in a wholemeal bread sandwich not a great recipe for you!) cacao pods: i believe you have to split them open then ferment them before extracting the seeds, and that's just to start with! lol i wish we in uk had a fraction of your choice, someone came to the supermarket where i work and said in america, the breakfast cereal section alone was the size of our whole supermarket! incredible fruit and veg section you have :)

Kohlrabi is a favorite of mine. I like the pale green ones. Although you can cook them (roasting is the most popular cooking method), I always eat it raw, in a salad or by itself. You can eat the leaves, but I eat the bulb part only. Simply peel it and cut it up. It tastes like a very mild radish. Yum!
@TheWhitingale8 жыл бұрын
+Jacqueline Azadi I've been eating Kohlrabi my whole life (raw is my favorite) but never heard of roasted Kohlrabi. How do you do that?
@aplusjba8 жыл бұрын
+TheWhitingale You can simply slice it up like french fried potato wedges, lightly coat with olive oil, salt and pepper, (a little crushed garlic is nice too), bake on baking sheet, 425 degrees fahrenheit for about 30 minutes.

Thanks! I will try it! :-)

Kohlrabi is a very nice hard vegetable. You can slice it, along with some carrots to sticks and keep them in a box with salt and lemon juice - delicious! So you can have it raw or a also as good substitute to potatoes.

You can eat kohlrabi both raw and cooked. Just slice off the outer layer thinly, then cut in smaller bits and eat as is or cook in water, kind of like you would with carrots.

Christine and Michael, Thank you for sharing your videos. I love watching them and has been moving toward better eating habits because of them, also I've been inspired to declutter and pare down my 'stuff'. I have one question/concern about the rooster. Chickens are flock animals and I was concerned that after releasing him he wouldn't have anyone to 'flock up with'. Were there other chickens around there? If not perhaps you could take a hen to him for company. We rescued a rooster a few years back and we became his flock. Any given moment I could walk in and find a german shepherd, cat and rooster all sharing the same dog bed. lol

Some of these flowers are just amazing I never new there were so many variations of my orchid I'm quite sure Scotland's climate will be far to cold for them! Will the cockerel survive out in the wild? What a beautiful place to plant a tree. That was one amazing shop I don't have anything like it here things in there I have not seen before :) xx

Hi Christine, you can eat Kohlrabi (Kohl= cabbage Rabi= roots) raw or steamed. For raw use, you have to peel it like an apple and use it in a salad for example. You can also cook it and use it as a side dish.You can also cook the leaf as they are very rich with vitamin c (double as much as the cabbage) and their carotin level is 100 times higher than calcium and 10 times higher than iron. It is an interesting vegetable. Enjoy it! Stef

I have three quick questions for ya. 1) What do you put in your Tumeric Amber Sun tea? I'm a coffee drinker but wanting to try teas & just not sure what to put in them if anything? Maybe you could make a video on what you put in your hot & cold teas? 2) I have my clothes in a cube just like yours & curious how you have yours folded to fit in there? I'm not sure I have mine folded to get the most of the cube space in each one if that makes sense? I loved your dresser! Whoever bought it is lucky lol. Lastly 3) Will you be taking your bed? I remember you saying it is the most comfortable bed ever. :-)

Kohlrabi is similar to a parsnip, and gobo root or burdock root is prepared by shaving it into shoots like bamboo shoots and stir frying. Traditionally gobo root is stir fried in sake, soy sauce and sugar. I typically prepare mine with sake, coconut sugar, and gf soy sauce or aminos.

+Glittering the Sky My boyfriend & I gave up "sticks & bricks" living (we had an apartment) for living in an RV last October. We're currently in an RV park in the forests of Northern Oregon, but had plans to move around this summer & just be as green as possible, so we could experience the country for awhile. Plans changed when we found out we're expecting our first baby later this year, however. But it's been a fun adventure so far! Giving up material things was a hard concept for me at first, I was so used to it, but he convinced me to try it & I love it! If you ever get the opportunity, DO IT! I'm so glad we did!

Hope you will try some - it tastes really good 😃 Good luck on your move 😉
