My goodness, I’ve listened to this album countless times. As it turns out, this is the first song in 23 years that I’ve shown to my mother, whom absolutely has taken a shining to it. Our music tastes differ so drastically, I’m so happy about that.

Well, sorry to break it to you: this song is not original. I love all the players involved, but this is a wannabe “coffin for head of state”. Contrasting this with Fela shows the difference between true, unbridled creativity and originality vs. talented musicians who can imitate virtually any sound. That said, I play bass and have looked up to Pino for the past 20 odd years, even when his influences are so transparent as to become imitations.

​@@79Glitch There's definitely similarities, but this is still a very distinct song from "Coffin." Calling it imitation is pretty unfair. This still sounds like a couple of white dudes in Van Nuys. I would never confuse this for any of Fela Kuti's work.
