Not everyone can relate to soybeans and corn but nearly everyone can connect with pinto beans. More folks need to see who and where their grub comes from. Thanks for taking us along.

Jenny, OxyClean does a pretty good job at getting dirty stains out of clothes. Oh, those "bean" jokes are the corniest I have heard in a while but I love how both of you were in it together.🤣

OxyClean and Spray&Wash have been my only go-to’s so far! I’m glad it seems to be working. I may have to adjust how much I’m using. Thank you!

My husband worked in a plastics molding factory for 22 years(til COVID caused it to shut down🙁) I treated bad stains with an Oxyclean/water paste, then soaked them. My very fav laundry detergent has always been Arm & Hammer(that has good old baking soda)that has Oxyclean in it, but I also add Oxyclean to the load. From an old married woman to a newly married woman, here’s another cleaning trick I’ve used(that avoids harsh chemicals in the kitchen) to replace things like Soft Scrub. Make a paste(I don’t measure, but I’ll round some out for you) 1/2 cup baking soda, tsp salt(I only use sea salt in our house but any salt will do), couple drops of dish soap, tsp of citric acid(if u have it, I use it for canning), about a Tbl white vinegar(it’ll foam like a bath bomb), then enough water to make a paste. I use that in my sink, on my greasy, food splattered stove top, etc. If it’s really bad(like sauce or bacon grease), I wipe off the worst of it, then put a layer of paste on it with some extra baking soda & add a little more vinegar. Works like a charm. Good luck

drizzle vegi oil on the spots them add a little detergent liquid and rub a little. let it set for a overnight then wash warm only the oily things. the vegi oil mixes with oils and grease, the detergent mixes with the muck mix but also mixes with water.. result it takes it all out. even works with pitch, gums, resins and many other non-water soluble materials.

Hey tell your wife to add Dawn liquid soap to each load with Tide and it’s gotten everything I’ve ever had on a shirt or jeans out! Maybe treat stains with Shout before putting in the washer.. Good luck Jenny lemme know if that helps!
@jenny9352 жыл бұрын
Ok, I’m terrified of it bubbling out of the washer. How much Dawn soap is appropriate for a load?
@lancemabry67072 жыл бұрын
@@jenny935 What I was taught is to put the Dawn on the stains directly, then add I’m guessing an ounce or two?? Not much I just eyeball it. Best way is to put directly on big stains, then after you add Tide or whatever you use, just count to one while adding the Dawn to load…. Just let it agitate maybe 3 or 4 mins and check, if it isn’t too sudsy add a little more. Sorry, that doesn’t help much at all!

I grew up on a farm in the 60’s and 70’s. My mom got so tired of washing blue jeans and having them come out ruined that she made my dad get us boys (and him) uniforms from some outfit that picked them up weekly and cleaned and returned them. That was her fix to the problem. Dad got over it when he realized it was all tax deductible.

Seems like it would be hard to have a bad day with a wonderful wife like Jenny. (I am sorry Jenny, that you have to put up with all that "Red" stuff. Green would be better.) I know nothing about Pinto beans. Could you show us a closer look at how they are harvested? Maybe stop the combine and gives us a tour around the combine head. I am from the days of corn, soybeans, oats, and hay. I have never seen a combine head like that.

Jenny, I don't know if you were serious about getting stains out but don't need all the "fancy" named products. They will work, though this has been my rationale. Dawn dish soap is a good recommendation, I personally have issues with foaming over the washing machine and scum layer from regular use. User stupidity?... probably. From my grand Mother to Mother, Fels-Naptha is the go to. Doesn't take much, just a "widdle" off the bar is sufficient. I prefer to not use it regularly as it will make some skin types itchy. So I suggest and use approx a table spoon of Arm & Hammer laundry booster every load . A&H is just sodium carbonate, which is found in all the fancy names item anyway and why they work; but at a fraction of the cost. Then, for example, stains gifted from encounters with blown hydraulic hoses, etc. get the Naptha spa treatment.
@jenny9352 жыл бұрын
Wow. Very detailed. I really appreciate that! I will be experimenting. Thank you, Joe!

Does raking the pinto beans into the combine bring in a lot of dirt with crop? Why not direct cut them? The two combines passing with outstretched augers look like two medieval knights jousting with lances ready. I hope the outcome isn't the same.
@beetfarminmitch2 жыл бұрын
It can bring in more dirt, yes. We direct cut some. There is shatter loss on the sickle so we leave beans behind, and it takes longer to harvest them because we need to go slower. We also have to desiccate the ones we direct cut. But direct cutting can work well too. Each has their own benefits Hahaha, I hope so too!
