I like the "back" as a possible front...seems to have more character with the jins
@greenwoodbonsaistudio3 жыл бұрын
although its a possible option the chosen front is much better in person, and the apex has better direction.

Yes, thanks Bob, wasn't till I saw it back, that I realised I'd only cut 3 little shoots off, nearly all the tree was used !

Nice work. I quite like the tree from the other side too. I'm glad I can repot pines now as I have had dandelion growing in a pot and it's really annoying. I will get onto this tout suite.

I said it before I like your style. The wiring was good. Learned a few things too. Not getting the needles between the wire and the trunk. Your working and explaining is very understandable. Ofcourse 👍👍

4, 5 buenas decisiones y el árbol tiene otro nivel y otra estética diferente. Just 4, 5 decissions and the tree has another level and diferent aesthetics. Of course, is not the final pot and needs more branch ramification but a great job. Thanks for sharing.

Awesome job, just started watching your channel. Love how easy you make it to understand what your doing and why. Feels like i have a better grasp of the concept and understanding of bonsai. This is the only channel that i found that helps me to understand and feel like i can do some good bonsai. You're technical but in a way i can understand and you actually demonstrating while talking is helpful too. Thanks.

Thanks again for another informative video. I know that the pot is a little bit over-sized (you said so)...and I think that it is a little bit too plain when compared with the flaky mature bark. I would suggest either a plain pot with more aged patina (the chosen pot looks 'too young') or a similar plain pot with a small region of flakiness extending beneath the nebari to match the bark.
@greenwoodbonsaistudio3 жыл бұрын
I have other pots, but didn't want to put it in to a very expensive hand made pot, as it will be for sale. Future pot choice can be elected by the new owner to their tastes. Often people will commission a pot from a bonsai potter once they have owned the tree for a while and go used to it.

Hey Corin. I've been loving your channel! I also watch a lot of gardening youtube channels and was recently talking to myself saying I've need to find some more bonsai channels to balance things out and I find it hard to find bonsai channels that I like enough to stick with long term. Your definitely one I'll be sticking with. I look forward to many years of bonsai videos from you and Greenwood Bonsai!! Cheers!

How long do you typically leave the wire on when redirecting a tree?
@greenwoodbonsaistudio3 жыл бұрын
I take it off just before it begins to cut in, can be anywhere from 4 months to 1 year + depending on tree growth rate, and time of year etc
