Have not talked in a while. I also see that the PIO blogs you replay to more then any of the other videos. When did you all run out of the patches? For the store if you need any help Pasco Sheriffs office has one and they do a ton of promotion on Twitter about it. I am sure they would love to help you if you need any... those that read all my comments if you can’t tell I love trying to get PIOs form different departments to get in touch with each other. Eric, Connor, keep up the good work! These videos are great Thanks for doing them.

Thanks, about the time I requested one. You are welcome also, as I said I like to get departments and different departments in contact with others. Not only does it help me but it helps the departments to see how others handle things and even though you are fire and medical and they are police you both do quite a bit of similar things. OMG, My house had burned down in 2016 due to a Heat Lamp we had outside for our small dogs while we was renovating my grandpa's house because they were unfixed old males who liked to used the bathroom in the house. We woke up at 5:00 AM in the snow by people breaking into our house yelling your house is on fire. Investigators believe the Heat Lamp fell inside the Dog House and caught the blankets on fire. Luckily they was not harmed but we did loose 2 cats inside the house. After that day, I finally made my decision to join my Local Vol. Fire Dept. #ThinRedLine #ThinBlueLine #ThineWhiteLine

I know for a fact their starting salaries are on there under their employment tab. Theres also some really cool information on there about other things if you feel like checking it out.

1:28: Why did they need so many trucks for a house fire? They brought like 11 trucks: Two towers, 2 medics, 2 battalion chiefs, 3 medics, 2 engines, and a rehab. All just for a house fire. Seems like overkill to me. Please explain.

I once had a Fire Battalion Chief explain to me, time is critical in a Fire, as they can grow rapidly, so if you’re a firefighter you would rather start more units responding than might be strictly necessary then cancel units that are unneeded. This ensures that when you do need all those extra units because the Fire has spread and the house is fully engulfed into a defensive fire that you have the resources needed to properly respond, and you aren’t stuck waiting for resources because they spent the last 3 minutes in station rather than responding to the call. Essentially the philosophy is we’d rather we have more than we need rather than not having enough, though this is tempered by using standardized response packages based on call type.

For a single family working structure Fire SMFR sends 4 engines, 1 tower or ladder, 2 medics, 1 safety officer, 2 battalion chiefs, our Rehab unit and PIO and investigator response.

Trucks and engines can be used to set up a rapid intervention team, can be used to do interior search and as they said there truck can function as an engine as well. @SMFR are your trucks then quad trucks?

HAY! Actually that is true we do. I love going 50 in a 20 / 25 residential area straight on a newly put in road... put in about 2 years ago. No stop signs or anything just kids and one intersection where where it is only a 2 way stop (not for the speed side) we have tired making a 4 way but my city just won’t do it for no reason.

South Metro does not have any junior firefighters. The closest thing that they have are Explorers who are not South Metro employees and do not regularly respond to calls. They usually meet for lessons and training three times a month for several hours and then go back to being a normal teenager afterwards. Some Explorers who have the training and have passed a skills test may be allowed to ride-a-long with the crews on calls as a learning experience.

They staff Rehab 12 and will provide support for South Metro on a scene, but they are an organization separate from South Metro Fire Rescue and are not junior firefighters.

30 (in words: *THIRTY* ) incidents of car vs building in *ONE YEAR* is simply and utterly *BONKERS* - I am a fire fighter and paramedic for 14 years now and I haven't seen a single incident of that type. If I had to guess, there aren't 30 vehicle-into-buidling accidents over a year in the entirety of germany.
