Pioneer Coal Mine Hands On The Throttle Experience

Recently I had the chance to operate a steam locomotive at the Pioneer Coal Mine in Ashland Pennsylvania for their Hands On The Throttle Experience. This was a fundraiser for their steam engine the Henry Clay, built in the 1920s, otherwise known as the "lokie". This engine was restored and lettered to the days when it was in operation by the Lehigh Valley Coal Company and was numbered the 123.

You gotta come out to Youngstown Ohio and do the throttle experience on the J&L Narrow Gauge if you haven’t already! I am planning on doing one this year. Solid video too! Really felt a part of the experience.
