It's so cool to creat something from nothing. I admire the fact that it took actual hard work to live day to day. It's something that's missing in our country. If you wanted water you had to walk to get. If you wanted warmth you had to build a fire. I realize how lucky I am to be able to flush a toilet or turn on the tap or get in my car and drive to a store or restaurant where I don't have to cook if I don't want to. Thanks for showing us a look into history.

Thanks for this video. My grandmother's family is Missouri French and go back to the founding of Ste. Genevieve. Most of the family still lives in the Old Mines/Ste Genevieve area, but grandma left that area more than 75 years ago. It's such a fascinating town and area with a rich history. Few people known that Ste. Genevieve has the largest collection of colonial French homes and buildings in the US. It even has more than New Orleans. It's like stepping back in time each time I return to visit family.

It's so nice to see these old structures in such beautiful condition. Too many of our beautiful houses and buildings, here in North America, have disappeared due to the so called progress of man. But it would have been nice to see the cars stored, in a high rise parking garage out of site, God help me, lol. I do appreciate the way that you integrate the past and future. The horse and carriage is amazing and this town is breathtaking. I just love this video and I love you two.

Ron and Justine, this video is so beautiful!! I loved seeing the streets of old St. Genevieve. It brought back such wonderful memories of my childhood when our family lived in St.Mary’s and would go to St. Gen every week for shopping, dining, doctor appointments, etc. That was a long time ago (1960’s😳) and it still has the timeless beauty I remember!! I loved everything - From that beautiful Shire horse to all the friendly folk and the wares they were selling. It reminds me of the local farmer's markets held on Hardwick VT's town park. Just by looking at some of the houses in the video, I could tell a few were from the 1700's. (I spent my early childhood in a very old house that was since restored and christened "The Jug Tavern". It's now the main office of the Ossining NY Historical Society.) I love all your videos. They bring me to very pleasant places.
