This is awesome.. i still have not been able to get the pad scratching on my SB3, probably because i dont know how to scratch yet (turntables). This really sets the bar higher.

Still never going to feel as gold as manually scratching, as a metal turntablist, I know the complexity some songs require such as songs like (sic) by Slipknot and even points of authority by Linkin Park, where the turntables work as an interlude and a main part of the riff, I don't think a pad could ever replace a jog wheel or turntable and it's crossfader.
@Fteddyujgddxchhhcd
@Fteddyujgddxchhhcd 5 жыл бұрын
fine, 'cause it's not meant to replace it, just a quick solution, especially for begineer, those are not made for high live uses
@CaptainDugog
@CaptainDugog 5 жыл бұрын
@@Fteddyujgddxchhhcd I guess that makes sense but the turntables were considered musical instruments after scratching became predominant, using a pad for it kinda ruins the art, why pick up a controller or turntable when these pads can imitate a few of the tricks that turntabists have created and continue to innovate for over 30 years, it's like getting a guitar that plays power chords itself or can play a riff by itself. Beginners need to learn the basics of scratching and mixing to become this "dj" or "turntablist" they want, with this development of replacement, why hire a DJ when you can get a machine that does what he does or why get a turntabists in a band when you can virtually make scratches inside the actual studio of the song. Maybe I'm just afraid to go obselite, maybe I'm overreacting but all I know is that a pad fx is not going to help teach, that's why I pulled out the sync buttons on mine, they're not going to help in learning.

Captain Dugog you’re definitely overreacting. if the crowd is jumping and having a good time, they don’t give 2 shits if you’re using turntables or a controller. that elitist mentality in 2019 is dumb when those same DJs drive automatic transmission cars to their gig (using a computer) and use Serato/Traktor to digitally catalog thousands of songs
@CaptainDugog
@CaptainDugog 5 жыл бұрын
@@infam0usP My point still stands from musician's standpoint. You can do a lot more manually on turntables than an algorithm that's mimicking it, i gave my examples too, but sure call me an elitist, you do what you want and I'll do what i want, we don't have to agree, just have fun and make some good music :).
@infam0usP
@infam0usP 4 жыл бұрын
Captain Dugog you suggested that turntables were considered a “musical instrument” at a period in music which couldn’t be a bigger lie there’s no traditional note system you can play on turntables & they damn sure were NEVER recognized as instruments in the realm of hip-hop which elevated the entire art form of turntablism to new heights

Yo Jamie. I have a question and I have Asked All The DJ’s I know (6) and even Tweeted Serato & Pioneer, I have the SX2, but this is a Serato Question, I know about midi mapping BUT, I like to have my echo effect using 2 other effects, the shorter delay and I can’t Remember The other lol, anyways, Is there anyway to midi map all three effects as a preset on a button. Knob or pad.. I have to always keep going in and setting it up again manually everytime I start a mix, scratch or set.. PLEASE HELP.. It’s the only thing I can’t get right.. Cheers Dave aka Xpressive D’
