Hi Phil, in the words of Princess Lea of Star Wars, you are my only hope. I have had a DDJ-SX2 since 2016. It was always reliable up until the last couple of months then the problems started. Regular sound drop-outs, very irregular but often. Now, the player shows sound levels on individual decks but no main sound output to the speakers. I use an iMac running Catalina 10.15.5 with ample resources. Sought help at Serato, no hope. used a higher quality USB cable, no change, checked all cable connections, no change. I tried to download a new driver but saw it was from 2016 (Pioneer Website). The latest software update won't install. I'm promted to install Java, did so but no joy. Any suggestions? Very greatful for your input. Thanks

1. Am I able to connect speakers to XLR and RCA? My subwoofer (active) connects with RCA but my top speakers (active) connect with XLR 2. Can I connect my subwoofer to the booth output so I have a manual knob (the booth knob) for just the sub volume?

1. I have only ever used XLR cables 2. You cannot control the sun separately , but you can certainly boost or drop the bass using the mixer

If I buy a USED ddj sx2 will I encounter any problems as far as registering it or getting to use it at all? Only reason I ask this for example I've many native instrument products and when it comes to registering and actually getting setup to use the product is just a complete nightmare, not to mention the fact if you were to buy it used you have to make sure the previous owner unregistered it, uninstalled it etc. I have the money to buy a new one its just that if I buy a used one then ill save money so buy some other equipment that I need like a midi controller or a new microphone which I both need for my productions. Any kind of information is much appreciated thanks!!!

Hi David, As far as I am aware, you will not have any issues like this. However, to be sure, I would suggest contacting Pioneer to double check. Better to be safe than sorry. P

turn the cue buttons on the channels (cue means to listen to the track in ur headphones)

It comes with a key so you can download directly from Serato's website. It also comes with expansion packs vouchers so you would add extra features at no cost. Remember the hardware is only to physically control the software, the Serato app is where the functionality resides.

I've got Bluetooth headphones, if I connect them to the laptop will I still be able to hear the track for beat matching?

No, you will have to attached them to the decks. I don’t think you can hear it through the laptop but there might be a way. You could get a Bluetooth adapter for the decks

bluetooth headphones are not good for DJ'ing because of the interference that they can cause or they won't work because of the interference of the wires connecting to a speaker. It could work but it isn't recommended.
