The new Pioneer DJ DDJ-XP2 is a new accessory controller that works with both Serato DJ Pro and Rekordbox DJ software straight out of the box.
The DDJ-XP2 is the second iteration of the original XP1 which was only meant to work with Rekordbox DJ... Even though you can program the original XP1 to work with other software, it didn't quite work as well with anything else except the Rekordbox DJ software. Now the new DDJ-XP2 works with Serato DJ Pro as an officially supported accessory which allows DJ's to try both software or switch back and forth as they see fit. The DDJ-XP2 can also be mapped to work with Virtual DJ and Traktor Pro 3 as well.
The new DDJ-XP2 has two banks of 16 RGB backlit pads which unlocks lots of newly introduced pad features for DVS users and DJ's who just want more buttons in order to tweak their performance. The DDJ-XP2 has great build quality and can last the rigors of a traveling DJ without the use of an additional bag for protection. The DDJ-XP2 also comes bundled with the Full Rekordbox DJ software AND the Rekordbox DVS software as well.

Just recently purchased the DDJ XP2 to use with my Pioneer S11 Mixer on Serato. I cannot swap the Sample Banks on the XP2 using the parameter buttons on the unit as I would on the mixer. I have even tried using the Shift + Parameter button , but it doesnt work. How can I move through the sample banks on the XP2 , without having to touch the mixer or the Laptop? Please help

Hi! Great Vid. But I think it would be great to understand how to set this up. How do you set up all the features on the actual xp2 ?? I understand how to midi map but not all of the features!! Like how do you get loop roll, slicer etc set up on this thing when you get it😫

It will already be set up. You just plug it in via USB and it will work with Serato and Rekordbox...

Thanks for the reply! But.. What do you mean ? The cue points and settings aren’t set up when you plug it in... I’m having to go thru and re map everything to the xp2... please let me know if there is something I am doing wrong. But I wasn’t able to just plug in and start using right away which is a little frustrating

Is there a way to assign to buttons 'search' to go forward and backwards in a track? just like a cdj/xdj has on the left side on the deck.

I don't usually map features in Serato, so I'm not so sure. If you can map searching through a track in Serato, then you can definitely use this to do it, but I'm not sure if that's possible.

Great video! Can you help me out? I think this unit will do what I am needing it to, however I would really appreciate your input on this. I have a DJM-450 with two standalone XDJMKII1000 decks. I am ready to upgrade to 4x decks, so I will be getting a new DJM 4x channel mixer in addition to the two additional decks to get to 4x total. However, I LOVE using the cue buttons in my sets. Right now, I have the ability to use hot cues, I just do not have cue pads, which I prefer. As you know, neither the XDJ1000 standalones or the 900NXS2 mixers have cue pads, so the only way I can see it possible to have cue pads and 4x decks would be to get a XDJ-EZ and add my two standalones to get 4x total channels. That was before I came across this video... I would prefer to have 4x standalones instead of adding the XDJ-EZ in the middle and only having cue pads for those two channels. With all that being said, will the DDJ XP2 be able to do this for me? By that I mean, using the DDJ XP2 as my hot cue pads for those 4 standalone decks. I would REALLY appreciate your input so I can figure out the best and most price efficient way to get cue pads for my 4x standalone setup.

What's up man! I just stumbled on your site! Great stuff man! Quick question: I am not a live DJ anymore - but I simply want to record some of my old vinyl without using DJ software like Serato - just use an interface/preamp combo and Audacity. Recommendations? Denon DJ DS1? Rane? I would like 24bit.

Thanks for the kind words! You can really use any turntable to transfer your vinyl to digital. You can use a small Numark PT-01 scratch or even a belt drive turntable. Now if you want to scratch a bit, then check out the Numark NTX1000 as it has a great motor and doesn't cost too much.

Dj BoomBastic Honestly I like them both but the SP1 is easier to use with two decks and it is all in one device where you would need 2 neons or switch between decks often.

This one is really good. The Maschine Mikro or Reloop NEON can also work depending on how you program them.

This will not give you hardware effects either, but you will have more control over effects in Serato with this.

I like the DDJ XP2 but Pioneer DJ is greedy as hell!! I bought the DDJ XP1. They should have got this shit right the first time with the DDJ XP1 being able to work with both Serato and Rekordbox. This is why people are shifting to Denon products.
