when u use scale at as1 how u select the root note that is still not saying no t any where how to di it

There is a scale mode on the AS1, what you are showing is the tuning mode.

I have both of these units, but unfortunately the AS-1 is absolutely useless for me (and many others) because of the sync issue. If you try playing the arpeggiator or sequencer and want to match it to the clock or BPM of a drum machine (or any other synth) it's always fall stotally out of sync. Even if you do finally latch on to the beat at the start, it will drift out of sync within a measure. It's always 1 or .7 of a beat off. They really need to fix this. I e-mailed tech support about it and they are aware of it but offer no solutions. Several people have reported the same issue all over forums, Reddit, and KZbin. It's so unfortunate because the AS-1 sounds so good! No issues with my SP-16 what-so-ever though. It's so much fun and sounds amazing!

the sp 16 doesnt have a real arpeggio, right? There sure are work arounds, if you want to use that is the question. Like external midi boxes for arps, or using the beatstep pro/keys.

jonas ness This is a shame and surprising to hear. One should think the Dave Smith name simply commanded fixing issues like you describe. Pretty crap tbh. I’ve been thinking about picking one up - not anymore. The Toraiz range is a strange one. Not clear if they plan for a future. An SP-16 mk2 e.g. could really be something special.

@@Raumweiter Hey Spacedout lol, thanks for the idea, the Launchkey Mini's arpeggiator should be excellent with my AS-1. Launchkey has a super sick arp brain and chord mode, set the scale for 2 notes, we should achieve some magic duo chords triggering of both AS-1 oscillators with separate notes that follow the Launchkey's scale. Yeah? Yeah oh yeah!
