I’m using the JBL LSR 308. I had the Yamaha MSP7 for about but 15 years if not longer. These seem like they are really nice. Thanks for the videos Bro!! You’re doing an EXCELLENT job!!!

Well this review was very useful! I wasn't even looking as I've been pretty happy with my Alesis M1 Actives, and then to see this review actually mention them as a comparison... I'm sold. I definitely want to pick up the VM-80. Take my money! 😂

Aye thanks for the great review man, you convinced me to get the VM-80. Really hyped for them to arrive
@pappo66610 ай бұрын
And how are / were they? did they live up to the hype? do you agree with him?
@AF-fe2ej10 ай бұрын
@@pappo666 yea they're dope. i use them for djing mainly, also do some producing on them. i've taken them to other houses for small-ish parties and they deliver well, but i do run em through a 10-inch sub now when more bass power is needed. i also use them for movies and while studio monitors usually aren't great for that, the dsp settings on the back really help to make them sound less flat/clinical if that's what you want

Thanks bro, I was on the edge between a few monitor styles/brands. After listening to several reviews on KZbin, your review was simply stated and clear. I’m gonna give the pioneer 80’s a go.

Another awesome review...I'm currently using the HS7s in my studio and absolutely love em...but obviously if there's something better I will be all for an upgrade...going to watch the market carefully to see if any other manufacturer ie.. Yamaha etc may bring something out this year maybe that will compete with the new pioneer...thank you again, always enjoy your reviews..👍👍👍

DJ with a small project studio here; I engineer on JBL LSRs (the 5-inch ones) monitors which I really love. I've been looking to buy a pair of Pioneer DJ monitors, as I plan to set up my DJ practice spot in in my studio as well. I was considering the VM-70s or VM-80s as I live the fact that they're designed for both critical/production and DJ use (with those EQ presets etc), and I love that they've added the ability to toggle the Energy Saver/sleep feature on and off. I was leaning toward the 70s due to the added $50 lift for the 80s, but based on your valued counsel, I think I'll spring for the 80s; the extra bass SPL will be welcome for when I'm playing house, rap and other bass-heavy stuff. My studio is 10x10 so they'll be perfect knowing they can handle the creamy bass. I've used the lockdown time to rip and restore a lot of my 80s, 90s, 00s vinyl including entire 12-inches with all the mixes! And I discovered that a lot of the house remix vinyl I ripped contain VERY useable alternate mixes and dubs and other cool shit of many hit tunes I played when I used TTs along with CDJs (I stopped using TTs about 2009 and mostly bought only house wax after that). With a pair of VMs it'll be nice to have a "second opinion" monitor-wise when I'm doing restoration on the vinyl. Sometimes I add a very subtle high lift to some tracks just so they'll sit better sonically with the newer digital stuff during a set (gigging won't resume for me for another month or so). The VMs will give me a better idea in-studio how my restoration labors turned out before I go out and start dropping remix versions of tracks most people have forgotten about or have never heard! Keep up the good work.

Really nice review and definitely useful. I'm not currently using any studio monitor speakers, but looking for something to throw under the table (or on top) as a DJ monitor speaker. I will give the Pioneer's hard look for that purpose (unless someone can suggest a better option for a DJ monitor). Thanks again dude!

I use Yorkville YSM5’s on my Studio computer and Larger YSM6’s for my home DJ setup. The 6’s have a switch for bass similar to these pioneers and are more than enough. Hit really low for a studio monitor and very clear.

Myself, I just got me a pair of the JBL 305P MK2. I love them so far. They are my first studio monitors so I don't really have a baseline to compare them to as far as personal use. I know they sound great to me. I'm dying to turn them up, but apartment living won't let that happen. Plan on adding the matching subwoofer to them at some point.

I used to have the JBL 308's and you are bang on, for the Price point they are a seriously great speaker, great lows and the Soundstage from their Tweeter design makes your 'sweet spot' Huge, would recommend them all Day for folks on a Budget, also the Adam T7V's T8V's for a little extra Clarity.

currently have some Focal Alpha 65 which I used for Production 4-5 years back, they are amazing but I just use them for DJing now and they're not so well suited, basically theyre super tight, super flat and super accurate which is not really what you want when DJing at home...i'm seriously thinking of getting the 80s purely for home DJing to give it some real club-style fatness...it sounds like the 80s would be perfect for this?
