Wait, you're serious? I was there in ' 71. Clean cut Christian kids getting the opportunity to be "counter culture" , long hair, church services (with an actual acoustic guitar!! " It only takes a spark..🎶) Far out man. Didn't put a dent in America, just made a bunch of middle class suburban kids feel cool and "Revolutionary". Since then the rich got richer, the poor got poorer, the Jesus Movement vanished, Jesus freaks turning into middle managers all across the country, growing fat and bald. "Farm Out and Right Arm! Peace, Luv, Duv Brother!

Spent the day helping an old friend enter eternity with peace, had to come home and find this song to help me after being poured out for family and friends. Among my people, I am that pioneer. They are so, so, so worth every step! I will happily take the lonely road, and the dark nights, if I can help blaze the trail they need to get Home to the Father. Thank you Nancy Honeytree, your music has been in my life for forty years.

In 1998, when I was driving to work, I heard a song on the radio called Pioneer. At the time, the Holy Spirit manifested to me through the song and I was left undone in the car. I had never heard the song before, and I have not heard it again, even once, in the last 23 years. Today Dutch Sheets talked about this song. As I listened to him, my ears perked up because I thought it was probably the same song I had heard in 1998. By the 4 minute mark in the video I was completely undone. And later in the video as well. I posted this similar comment to his rumble.com video. Thank you for sharing this song.

When I was a student at School of The Ozarks (now College of The Ozarks, although it was a 4 year college even then), I promoted 2 CCM concerts: Nancy Honeytree (Henigbaum) and the Sweet Comfort Band. The latter group was funkier, but Nancy was sweeter. I still remember the sisterly hug she gave me. I believe that she later got married. The man who married her was a blessed man.

Nancy, I happened to go to ILLOS Music store, not the Main Street location, but their other store, in the early 90's (93 /94?) accompanying my friend Micki who knew the owner. When we got there, it turned out it was a private party for your birthday. We were invited to stay. At the party you performed for 30 or more minutes (You sound man at the time made your guitar and vocals sound like Led Zeppelin lll - just amazing. I even told him.) Never the less, you offered a cassette to whomever guessed one of your oldest songs and I won with "I Don't Have To Worry" because the Christian Group I was in in the mid 70's played that. I also saw you at one of the late 70's Creation Festivals. That being said, I was going through a bad divorce at the time and had two beautiful little (6 & 3) daughters then. The Pioneer cassette became the background for my daughters going to sleep most nights. At times, it touched my heart to hear them sing lyrics at time when they stayed with me occasionally. Estranged for over 20 years from them, and as we are attempting 'reconciliation', my older one sent me this link. I've cried many times over my girls and while listening to this album. It has blessed my Spirit and kept me going on for all these years. God Bless You and Thank you...... Jim

I just heard this song for the 1st time last weekend on the radio. I felt it was a gift from the Lord. It speaks to my life so distinctly, I just cried at the tender loving message it. The deeper touch was it being a song from the Jesus movement time. I was dedicated to the Lord in a beach church where our pastor was in the Jesus movement and had revival. I have felt my whole walk has been seeking the wildfire that once burned bright and brought people to a radical saving knowledge of Jesus. Not, "church club" churches but churches who honor our dear Holy Spirit and are not ashamed of His work in man's life. Be exalted Jesus!

Lyrics are so honest and very true. Those who follow will be infinitely greater for the accomplishments and conquered territories of the pioneers. The road untraveled is so hard and paving it is so hard; yet, we must. An uncharted path lays before us - it's calling us and we must push through.
