Funny enough, I had been wondering whether Kaito could slot into a standard merfolk deck where merfolk doesn’t have much of a consistent combo plan. Might make a nice recursive threat in like a flash/etb focused deck, where bringing creatures back to your hand could actually be a plus. The type synergy isn’t amazing, but that’s true for the Rogues deck too: they don’t seem to have any other ninjas

I get there no (good) fetch lands in Pioneer, but I don’t understand why treasure cruise is banned in modern but legal in pioneer.

Why are you not playing on Arena?

It doesn't have the full Pioneer card pool. For example, Tidebinder Mage doesn't exist and there's a pile of archetypes that don't exist in Explorer compared to Pioneer. I'm preparing for the Regional Championship, so I need to play the real deal.
