What is the model number of your Pioneer in-dash receiver? If you can't get the wireless update to work, I recommend to update the receiver to firmware version 3 or newer using USB. It's very easy to download the firmware update to your computer and then extract the file to a folder. Be sure to extract the file to a folder. Be sure to format a USB drive as FAT32 or NTFS. Transfer the update file to the USB flash drive and connect the USB flash drive to your receiver. From there go to Settings>System>System Information>Firmware update. Choose the USB option. So. Freakin. Frustrated. I'm a mecp installer and STILL can't get my 4660nex to connect to my Samsung S21+. It worked fine since I bought it, but all of a sudden it won't recognize my phone automatically and I have to manually pair the headunit to my phone every time like it's a new setup. I tried updating firmware though wifi/my phone/Hotspot., but no luck. PLEASE HELP because I'm losing my mind trying to fix this. Having to "update" your own headunit is kinda ridiculous too. I miss the days of not having to do that. About to put back in my 2005 cd playing head unit If I can't get it to work, cuz this very disappointing

I recommend to do the firmware update for your Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX using a USB flash drive. Be sure your USB flash drive is formatted as FAT32 or NTFS. EX-FAT does not work. When you download the firmware to your computer, the data is compressed. Be sure to extract the firmware update on your computer before transferring it over to the USB flash drive. You want the firmware update on the drive alone. No other data or files should be on the drive. You can find the latest firmware update for the Pioneer DMH-W4660NEX here: www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Car/NEX/DMH-W4660NEX#downloads After you do the firmware update, I recommend to take a few steps to get things connecting properly again. First, do a restore settings on the in-dash receiver. Settings>Restore Settings>Restore All Settings. The receiver will automatically restart. Next, delete all phones from the in-dash receiver's Bluetooth memory. Next, on your phone, delete the in-dash receiver from the phone's Bluetooth memory. Next, on your phone, delete all references of the in-dash receiver, or vehicle from the phone's Android Auto memory. Next, Restart your phone. Next, make sure your phone is not connected to any other devices such as a headset or a portable speaker. Next, begin the phone pairing process from the beginning.

Did you switch the demo mode off? Demo off is in the settings menu. If you switched off the demo, then, it sounds like you have the receiver installed incorrectly. If your clock and radio stations, or demo mode reset each time you start your vehicle, the in-dash receiver may have an improper connection for the Yellow Wire. The Yellow Wire must have constant power from the vehicle. This means if the vehicle is switched on or switched off, the yellow wire should measure at ~12 volts. The Red Wire is for accessory. You can view the red wire as the receiver’s on/off switch. The red wire should measure ~ 12 volts only when the vehicle is switched on. ---Do not connect the Red Wire and Yellow Wire together. --- Please take a look at this video for more information on wiring your Pioneer in-dash receiver: kzbin.info/www/bejne/Y5OpZKiwr8aHaZI You can find a full playlist of How To videos from Pioneer about NEX in-dash receivers here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3m6iIl9a5aBp68 You can find more videos on Pioneer's KZbin Channel here: www.youtube.com/@pioneerelectronics

@@pioneerelectronics this is probably the most helpful response I’ve received from anyone. Yes. DEMO mode was turned off. It was install professionally by a vendor. I’ll take it back to them with the information provided as I also suspected it was this. THANK you So much.

If you're having difficulty with the wireless update, I recommend to do the firmware update via USB. Download the firmware update to a USB flash drive and plug into the receiver's USB port/extension cable.
