It's interesting that the Technics DD's used to (and still do) get most of the attention from the HiFi community but some of the other Japanese DD's were also very good with better specs than most 'tables available today. If you can find a fully refurbed old Japanese DD , you've usually got a good one. Hell, even some of the cheaper ones were'nt bad either. Not too fond of autos/semi-autos because there's just more to go wrong. You're right about the used records market, it's mad.

Hello TG, great video. The PN-5MC is a great sounding stylus and very very popular. They can be difficult and expensive to get but they can also be repaired. My father bought a similar turntable in '83 with the same cartridge/stylus.

I still have it.

@@TurntableGuy Well I would suggest that you straighten the cantilever, if possible and see what it's like. I have been buying them from Japan because they're so expensive on the western auction sites. Could I ask for your expert opinion on something. I have the PL-445. I need to replace the the fluid on the tonearm. Any tips for that?

High output moving coil cartridge with replaceable stylus. (if you can find them) I found some at Voice of Music. I've bought complete turntables just to get the cartridge.

The hole at the rear of the tone arm on this model is the self destruct button on this poo-o-neer.

Hello, I just bought myself one of these, pretty sure it works because the seller tested it before sending, but I can't seem to figure out how to make it work when I press play it just hovers over the disc, looks like it needs a weight adjustment, could make a video how to adjust the arm weight on one of these? Also do you know what that arm button does, sorry for newbie questions just got into record players

This is a link to a good video for turntable setup. Hopefully this will sort the issue. m.kzbin.info/www/bejne/jX6Qknx6rMulnsU&pp=ygUddHVybnRhYmxlIHNldHVwIGZvciBiZWdpbm5lcnM%3D
