A needle pressure of two grams is enough for home use. Because you should not have a disco at home where people jump on the floor 😁. and with lower needle pressure, the vinyl records also last longer

Hello Vinyl friends! I have a quick question. When lowering the needle on the record, like at 8:19 in the video, the tonearm is no longer horizontol. It looks like it is weighted forward towards the record a bit. It is the same thing with my plx 500 and I cant lower the tonearm anymore, is this normal?

Thanks for the video. I will probably buy these for home dj'ing. The slow start isn't that bad if you're beat matching, because usually you would have the platter spinning while holding the record with your finger before releasing it. Torque is more important. It's probably not as good as the high end Pioneer or Techincs turntables but I assume anyone can get used to the feel of this turntable when mixing. Also on a side note I think the background music in the video made your voice a bit hard to hear, maybe leave it out next time and cut some of the lows of the audio of your voice, would make it better to understand what you're saying. Other than that, really useful unboxing and review. Looking forward to my new turntables :)

Hi man. Just a small & quick question that would help me a lot. Does your dust cover stands at any other position than closed or fully opened? Like somewhere in the middle let's say? It makes a click when opening it but it seems to be really heavy to stand there. The cover of my previous turntable did that and i'm just asking cause i bought one of those today, i have no space to fully open the dust cover and it's a bit annoying. Just want to confirm that it's not a problem of my cover. Thanks in advance for your reply, take care!!

Hi, just a couple of questions.. Does it have auto-stop feature when the stylus reaches the run-out area? Is the stylus elliptical or conical as nothing is mentioned on the official website and by just looking at it seems it's a replica of AT 3600L.

It's completely manuel so it doesn't stop when the stylus reaches the run-out area. It's an elliptical one I believe and feels a direct resemblande of AT120 and SL1200

Good review. I too own one with an ortofon 2m red. Rumbling issues are no more with direct drive turntables. These are the days when motors are made for computer hard disks and 4k blueray players. My PLX 500 is dead silent accurate in speed and solid. It is definitely an underrated product, due to the aggresive selling tactics of Rega or Project Audio. They keep contradicting themselves. Thay say straight tone arm is better and say they use s shaped tone arms in their high end turntables. They say dead weight anti skate is better and use magnetic anti skate in their high end. The whole belt drive thing is to keep selling parts. Poor Technics had to be sold to Panasonic since their turntables never broke. Typical sales tactics by big players. Direct drive and S shaped tonearm are the way to go.

Rega planar 1 is, however, considered the best turntable in the budget class. the hifi world is very suspicious of the built-in phono preamp. lamps and the like. they suspect that such things in the turntable can create high frequency interference

However, there is an audiophile reporter. who noted the humming sound from the engine in the Technics turntable

which cartridges are pre-installed in the turntable can be an important factor. An example a turntable that has orthophone red or blue pre-installed can be a really good good and affordable turntable for orthophone red and blue can be really expensive to buy separately .and orthophone cartridge gets very good ratings

It's a valied point. On the other side the pre-installed cartridge on this turntable is pretty desent. Will upgrade and check the difference soon.

What happens at the end of the record? Does the arm return to its resting position, does the turntable stop or does it keep turning until you stop it?

It's a manual turntable, so the arm doesn't comes back and it keep on rotating until you stops. Just as in technics

Torn arm counter weight depends upon the catridge used. However, on a average it will be around 2.5 to 3g weight. (Keeping the texting limitations) 1.Keep the counter weight screwed in, aligned to the line marked in tornarm. 2. Adjust the counter weight till the tornarm perfectly floating above the record. 3. Without moving the counter weight, turn the number to zero (aligning to the line in tornarm) 4. Then move the entire counter weight to 2.5 or 3g Your tornarm will be good to go.

if you are not going to use the turntable for DJ, you do not need such high needle pressure and probably no extra weight with Dj, we mean, for example, like to scratch on the vinyl record. or taking it to a disco where there can be a lot of vibration

There are two ways to connect to speakers. 1. Connect turntable to amplifier and then connect speakers to amplifier 2. Connect turntable directly to active speakers, as this turntable has an inbuilt amplifier
