Actually just installed one myself. If you get a lesser stroke actuator, like 6 or 7 inch, you do not have to do anything except grind off a tab on the bed side. I got a 9 inch stroke and had to clearance the cross brace there due to it wedging up against it. Also, I had to move the mounting spot and all. Go with a lesser stroke and the tab and plastic cover are the only things that have to be altered. I also did the key fob so you just run a hot wire to it, frame ground it, and you have a remote control dump bed. I also got this from progressive automations.

Ben, If you did it again. What stroke would you go with?

do you have a video of said difference? Also how about a video or shot at max dump height?

Good job brother. Always good to see others who aren't afraid to break it and make it better.

Great job there man, I’m about to try to but on a Pionner 700-4, we'll see how it goes

Awesome mod. Can you tell me why it won't work on a 1000-5? Thanks

The five seater has a different length shock a friend of mine had one and we tried it on his, and it wouldn’t work

How did you go about the wiring? did you go to the panel box? did you put any fuses in it? Are the limit switches adjustable? how do you make it stop in the full down, full up position?
@cruise9820014 жыл бұрын
I did add a fuse and I made my own panel that goes inside for the toggle switch and then I just ran to the battery The limit switches are not adjustable and they’re built into the linear actuator that I bought listed in the description hope this helps thanks for watching.

First of all great job! I have been thinking about doing this on my 2018 P1000 also. I read about how someone did this but the linear actuator they used cost a lot more so I am definitely going this way. I wanted to see which force did you end up going with and how much did you pay for yours? Also I could not see clearly in the video how you did the top flange. Did you order the optional t-shape bracket to do this and how did you attach it?

I only went with the 400 pound rating I believe that was the only one I could get with a 9 inch stroke which was about $150 I don’t remember the exact amount and the tab on top is just a flat bar I welded on
@cruise9820015 жыл бұрын
If you go to the link that I put in the description and select 9 inch you only have two options I just checked and I went with the 400 pound option

Great job first off. My question is did you disable the manual locking devise and handle that held the bed down? If you did, do you think this will put too much stress on the actuator bouncing up and down on rough terrain while travelling with loads? I want to add this to my 2018 Honda 700.
@cruise9820015 жыл бұрын
I just put a zip tie on the manual lock out handle to hold it up all the time so far it’s worked really good on roof terrain haven’t had any issues

@cruise9820016 жыл бұрын

Thank you. I am in contact with progressive about ordering an actuator and was told that they do not make a lift rated at 1200 lbs lift, but they do special order one rated at 1350 lbs lift for the price of $198.00 plus shipping. I will be ordering one on 7/16/2018. I have also checked out the project and decide it would be easier to remove the box to install.Thank you for your quick response.

cruise982001 I am reviewing your installation of the actuator .. nice clean job. The actuator you used .. was it Linear Actuator Model: PA-04-9-400 with 9” lift at 400 lbs?
