Absolutely. The RMX-1000 will work on a send/return with any mixer (eg. Pioneer DJM-500, 600, 700, 800, 850, 900nexus, 1000, 2000, 2000nexus, 3000, 4000, 5000), or can be used as a Master unit (All other mixers). A master unit means your master output from your mixer will plug into the RMX-1000, then the RMX-1000 output will go to your speakers. Be sure to set the switch on the back to a 'Master' if using it as a Master unit, or 'Send/Return' if using it on the send and return.

Now I'm starting to understand why this box cost $1000 originally, this thing is smarter than it looks. I'm impressed that it won't automatically try to snap a overdubbed sequence when it redetects BPM, allows you to use jurisdiction on how to transition it in. Like all the nuances they put in, like the sequencer nudge, and the big LED indicator for what scene FX style you have selected, plus that Release FX kill switch is absolutely genius. I wish they included a BPM nudge itself though, for when you're intending on mixing into a different BPM range and want to just smoothly drive it down or up. edit:: I take that back, read up and noticed that holding tap gets you into manual mode! Have seen some of the work that people like Jordan Suckley have been able to work with this, and definitely seems like something useful for me...having a 2000 style isolator effect along with basically the new rekordbox sampler effect, plus the FX quality in general, seems like a dream. For all the previous posters this is basically going for $400 on eBay now as well.

Yes, the RMX-1000 can work with any DJ setup. Using it with the DDJ-ERGO will require it to be used as a Master unit. In this case, you will need to connect the Master output from the DDJ-ERGO to the input on the RMX-1000, then go from the output on the RMX-1000 to your speakers etc. You will also need set the switch on the back of the RMX-1000 to 'Master'.

It depends on which software you want to use the RMX-1000 to control? You can use the DDJ-SX to control Serato DJ, but you cannot use the RMX-1000 to control Serato DJ as it does not allow for MIDI mapping options. I would personally suggest using the RMX-1000 as a hardware external remix unit (what it's designed for) with your DDJ-SX.

Absolutely. Ive been using mine since release of ddj1000... But it has to be as a Master effect as ddj1000 has no send return routing.

Yes I can make an overview of the DJM-2000, but I have a lot of other videos on the go and to complete before that, I won't be able to complete and post it until the end of November if that works for you? At the moment, I use the DJM-900nexus and prefer some of its features over the DJM-2000, although there are also some great features on the DJM-2000 over the DJM-900nexus. It comes down to a personal preference between them because they are both excellent choices.

Dear Andy, Thank you for such a informative video with full explanation of RMX1000. I was looking NI kontrol X1 alternatives in terms for effects from Traktor Pro which I like to use sometimes in my sets made with Traktor Pro. But as I trying to move more toward Pioneer XDJ decks without using Laptop/PC and Traktor Pro itself I found that I am missing those effects from Traktor so started to look in google what could be alternatives and could not find anything much closer than RMX1000 as I do want get those possibilities in one hardware box. So the question for you, if you have experienced Traktor Pro effect possibilities through Kontrol x1: "Do you consider RMX1000 as a good alternative for this? As far as I went through this video, I could say for me it is like 90% of yes. 10% left so I should try in live RMX1000 in near shop to be sure 100%. What your thoughts of my approach for alternative?

need to know how to use the x pad with one instrument and still have a beat made with the instruments lopping at the same pattern I'm not liking how when using the x pad all the instruments are being mashed on the x pad at the same time. I've managed to do it a few times without other beats but apart from one selected going on too the x pad but it doesn't work every time there's more to the xoad than meets the eye just hard to work it out

Unfortunately it does not. For full contents, please check my RMX-1000 Unboxing video, link in the description. :) For a stand, I would recommend checking your local DJ dealer and find something such as a laptop stand that will fit with your current setup and the RMX on top.
