This reel to reel tape machine is compact and makes Hi-fidelity 7 1/2 or 3 3/4 IPS recordings on 7-inch or 10-inch reels. The frequency response is between 30kHz - 20kHtz. If you are johnny on the spot, you get some pretty excellent stuff.
Make the most out of expensive recording tape by recording in 4-track stereo. This deck only plays 4-track but plays it in both directions when sensing foil is attached to each end of the tape. There are two heads and two sets of pinch rollers. So when it gets to the end of one side, it stops and plays in the other direction. You can party like its 1999 all year long to seamless music if you like a single tape that much. That's three hours at 3 3/4 inches per second of tape travel. Enjoy the reel world and live an analog fidelity filled life.

I have been listening to your play list over and over for a while now, and I have to say that I am beyond grateful that anyone is willing to put in all the time and effort to create such interesting and well edited videos showing off not just the high quality sound but the beautiful machinery it is being played on. I do not think I will ever own so fine a machine, but I am building up my own HifFi from what I can afford to buy and repair. This is inspired by your work, so thank you for the rewarding hobby!

I love the RT-909,just had mine recapped,the only cons about it,is that you can only record in one direction other than that Pioneer came up with a beautiful sounding and sexy machine

For sure! Good go. These are iconic machines. I was sold on the Technics 1506 for a long time until I got a Pioneer 909. I am having another one completely restored and upgraded. Just love this machine for commercial 4-track tapes I don't do much recording though.

I recorded the tape on this machine from the DCC Gold CD - THe Pioneer is set up fro the NAB eq cheers - Jim

Yes. for sure! just hard to find a variety of pre-recorded music for 2-track. I run both 2-track and 4-track 1/4 inch machines. What I find is amazing is how high-end cassette machines sound.. smaller tape on two sides and runs at 1/2 the speed.

@@ReelHifi they are good for their size. But, on absolute sound quality, even a cheap 4 track machine crushes cassette tape decks.
