It's really cool to see my own art as the splash screen and AV screen. Not only that, I'm able to watch videos while I'm actually driving the car via the usb stick. I don't think that's completely 'legal' to do so I'm quick to tap the home or mode button if the situation calls for it. My car is a 2009 Optima SX with all the bells and whistles including the Infinity system that was offered that year. Sadly the touch screen went out on that and all I could do was pretty much listen to the free channel once my satellite radio subscription ran out. Now with this 8200NEX, I was able to keep all the original speakers (which actually sound better now) and continue using all of the original steering wheel buttons and so on, along with all the newer Android features that the original system never had. The shop charged me right under $2,000.oo for everything plus a new Sirius system. In my opinion, a great deal. I still want to get that mic to tune the system for me and the front and back video cameras. Two thumbs up!

Love these review and walkthrough videos. Very helpful and informative. System installed yesterday. Pioneer AVIC-8200 NEX, JL Audio 650 C3 components, JL Audio 650 C2 coaxials, JL Audio XD 600/4, JL Audio 750/1 and two Alpine Type R 10" subwoofers in a vented enclosure. I highly recommend this head unit. Amazing amount of control, a pleasure to use and has so many features.

Hope you can help answer this question Five Star Car Stereo before I begin the install.... In the case of the Right Turning Camera feature such as the option on a 2016 Honda HRV... When signaling to make a Right-Hand-Turn, the Honda Screen activates the front camera (Located under the Right Side-Mirror). It can also be turned on full time by pressing a button on the turn signal handle. Can this feature be activated in the same way on the NEX8200?

So what’s the secret of calibrating the nex8200 GPS system when speedometer cable is Hard Wired? Looks like it takes forever to see right, left, 3D, kilometer miles to initialize through. It does counts it pulses when the car moves foward or back on the calibration screen and in beginning it gives me abnormal speed pulse error message. 8200nex is custom fitted to a Honda S2000 and I’m sure according to Honda etm diagram, the speedometer cable is correctly tapped into .

When the radio switches from analog to digital does it still have the difference in volume? I had to turn off digital on my older Pioneer because I would constantly have to play with the volume.

There is still a small difference, but we have not had any complaints yet.

fotopfanatic it will only send the DVD quality out of the radio. The HDMI will not feed from the radio to the rear screen.

MrCesar3250 yes. The Aux you are going to have to hardwire in to the car. The USB part is not listed, however I know they make one. I believe it is the same as Toyota.

Leon Li yes Metraonline.com has the kit you will need. The 1 tb. drive can be a bit tricky. For the most part no because it will not read NTFS. If you can get it to format to fat32 it will work.

Question on the HDMI input and Video Output: So if I were to connect a phone (that has HDMI output capability) via the HDMI input using a micro USB to HDMI adapter, couldn't I just use the "Mirror" option for the "Rear Dual Zone" since there's no actual "Rear HDMI" option? I ask this because I recently added the imedialinx a/v to hdmi cable to my avh-3700bhs to add hdmi, and then I ran a rca from the "video output" to my rear screen and seems to be working fine mirroring the h/u while playing from a DVD or from the A/V (HDMI imedialinx cable). So basically, would the 8200 mirror to the rear while you are on the HDMI source up front using the "Mirror" option under the Rear Dual Zone.

+imnotawasteoftime no the HDMI will not pass out of the Rear rca to the back screen. For that to work you would have to use a MediaLinks cable into the AV input just like the 3700. The Copy Protection in the cable blocks the output.

okay, so rundown of what I have: Avh-3700BHS rear screen/dvd player I have the imedialinx rca to HDMI cable ran to the a/v input on the h/u. I also have the rear DVD player a/v outputs plugged in as well using rca splitters (video quality went down due to the splitter). I then have an rca from the h/u video out to the rear screen video input #2 to mirror the h/u on the rear screen. basically just wanted to get rid of the imedialinx cable and run the HDMI cable straight to an HDMI input to retain video quality by ditching the rca splitters. Would using and HDMI splitter have the same video quality loss, or retain clarity? Since the the Video output can't mirror the HDMI input, I was wondering if running the imedialinx to the rear screen, and then using an HDMI splitter to connect an HDMI cable straight to the h/u as well would work?

Those controls are done though the iDataLinks maestro connection over data bus and not done with a hard wire switch. So no there is nothing to control them.

Hey i have another question i am going to run two amps for a total of 1200 watts and i am thinking about getting a cap are they worth it amd do they really help? Hey guys, great video! I just got an 8200nex, I have searched high and low for a setting that will stop the unit from playing the first song by alphabetical order from my iPod classic every time I select it as the source. It is hooked up on USB1, is there a way to set it to remember your last song played/playlist, so I don't have to go through a bunch of menus every time I select the iPod? I never had this issue with my stock STI system..

It was updated to ver 1.04 from ver 1.02I talked to my son and he said that after using the unit for a couple of days that the gps is now loading when he starts his truck and he does not need to keep loading it. Thanks Craig

I just got myself a AVIC-8200NEX with iDatalink Maestro RR and having some challenges on installing the back up camera and OBD2 on my 2015 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited with Alpine speaker system. This is my very first stereo install and I've managed to get the head unit properly installed with your videos. However, for the back up camera, I'm not too sure where to connect the RED and BLACK wires to... And I plugged in the OBD2 cable plugged into the Jeep but the stereo is not recognizing it... Can you help please?!?! Thank you!

James Kim the red and black camera wires connect to the red and black wires behind the radio. There is a setting in the car feature menu to turn off and on the obd2 reading. It might be set to off.

Perfect! I had others telling me to connect the black and red wires to the car's back up light's power and ground. (I even bought a test light to find the back up light wires...) I'm glad I can connect to the radio's power and ground instead. I'll check the Jeep's menu setting for OBD2 reading and turn it off and try again. Thanks for the quick help!!

Kenny Golub yes we are an Alpine dealer and do stock all the Restyle radios( both the Jeep 9"). We also have one of the radios on display for people to play with. We also have both the Kenwood and Pioneer radio on display with it. The reason I'm tell you this is to set the seen we give our customers and the choices we offer. Now to answer your questions we sell more Pioneer and Kenwood to Jeep owners.

Are you using USB 2? Make sure the USB settings are correct in the phone. Make sure all the apps on the phone are closed. Use the USB cable that came with the phone.

I cannot get the android auto function to work with my Samsung S7, we tried using a OEM Samsung cord both with and without the USB extension in the USB2 port.. still no luck. Pioneer says it may be a defective head unit, have you guys seen the S7 work with android auto on the 8200?

Jorge Barrera oddly we get this question a lot, I guess they are slipping. They will both fit, head over to www. Bestkits.com for a full list of parts. When you do the install there is some plastic behind the radio you may want to remove. It will make the job easier

guitarman420 you should be able to. Some device have scaling issue, but I believe they are ok.

I have an 09 avalanche and it works perfectly fine in mine. I just installed the 580bhs yesterday. I don't see the need to spend 300 more for navigation when Google maps is better than any radio navigation. but yes it should work fine as the 07 to 13 gm suv/sut are nearly identical.
