That’s a great looking system I love Pioneer receivers from the 70s. I had an SX-1250, technics turntable, and Bose 901 and 301 speakers back in the day. I really miss that stereo system and I wish I would’ve kept it.

Although its rare I am not keen on the linear tracking TT, but the rest of the system is gorgeous! That fluoroscope open reel is worth its weight in gold !!!

I am a pioneer man through and through. For your sake, move those speakers away from your equipment! The speaker's magnets can adversely affect the equipment's internal electronics. also, you need to provide headroom for (i.e. space above) the amplifier in your rack for cooling purposes. Pioneer recommend at least 4 1/2 inches. A lot of people make the same mistake - i've noticed many Spec 1's directly on top of Spec 2's. Bad mistake.

I wouldn't really worry about the magnets on these specific pioneer cabinets, they are incredibly tiny I believe the subwoofer and mid-range have the same size magnets

SUPER SYSTEM..... I remember going over to Ed's house in Chicago on Thomas St. and being blown away by his brother's (Krzysiek) Pioneer system paired with a monster set of Cerwin Vega 15" speakers. So I tell Ed.... wait I have the perfect source material for this system.... I run over to the house and get two albums Scopions: Animal Magnetism and Love Drive. You want to talk about a KILLER set/party. Hey man pierwszy otwor 5:51 Kochan Cie Kochanie.... Maanam... brings back the memories.... Michal Zajebisty System! Would be curious to hear this system paired with a vintage pair of Cerwin Vega, or Pioneer CS-R700, CS-99A, CS-901, or CS-63DX, those were some of the best speakers Pioneer ever made. I especially love the Pioneer horn driver speakers. Having owned the CS-R700 the sound was superb. FYI the CS-R700's smoked the Klipsch Heresy speakers. The 80's were the BEST!

1977 I was selling the hell out of these in a small Chicago chain called EDI. Pioneer discount I could have bought the rack without reel to reel but all other eq including the HPM 100 speakers for 900 bucks adding the RT 909 reel unit added about 325 bucks more . I used the money to buy two McIntosh MD 60 mono tube amps and went back to College I’d love this setup now...

Used to sell hifi from the late 70's (Sam Goodys in Livingston Mall/NJ) through a lot of the '80's (Best (not Best Buy)) and another small store in Eugene, OR and then at a hif/video store (Clackamas Towne Center/OR); helped get me through Grad School plus my older brother was the east coast rep for Metrosound, ESS and M&K. My current is a mix of new (Yamaha 2060, Martin Logan, Oppo, Definitive) and old (Hitachi HMA 8300 and Kenwood Power Amp)…..nice classic Pioneer Chrome, I remember it all well

I had that but I had the a 27 amp pioneer with technic sbg 500 speakers and pioneer hpm 150 speakers in Germany in the 1980 that rocked the hole barraks. Got in trouble for two loud

Those stereo systems were the state of art of the mid and late 80's, early 90´s I guess. I'm looking at something not so common, a reel recorder. The vynil has the best sound of all audio sources (personnal thinking)
