Pauly your question about making dredging videos more interesting... In the future some low flying drone shots over just the river, looking down (if you can do it) would make good breaks for more commentary, and look sick at the same time. You probably can't go high or above treeline but if the camera can see into the water and see the river bed, could make for some cool shots. But also, seeing all the coarse sand gettin just sucked right up there is somehow really satisfying, don't @ me lol

I own one. I've found it better to bring the material to the nozzle. It greatly reduces the clogs and allows you to remove the coble that will clog it before it gets there and I out the cobble in a classifier until it's full then dump it. then just suck up whats left. Slow and steady wins the race with that dredge. I love it.

I started with a 1.5" high banker combo then bought a 3" dredge, Then a Keene 4" three stage dredge and ended up producing a one hour vid on how to operate it. Didn't make any money on the vid but had a blast. A friend on the same claims wanted a couple of my claims and traded me for a Keene 6" twin engine dredge... Way to much for me. I sold it and went back to a little 2" high banker combo and had a lot more fun... I kinda like that little mini though. Cool. Great vid as usual bro...

Ya dredging is cool. If you only did dredging then no but it's another arrow in your quiver. With the sniping, panning, detecting, and now dredging, you have the luxury of mixing things up without changing genres.
@ProspectorFrank Жыл бұрын
A method to get more production from a 2 inch dredge is to pull the hose off of the suction nozzle and then use the flow of water from the suction nozzle to dig a trench in the stream bed, the goal is to blow the oversize rocks out of the hole. The gold being heavy concentrates at the bottom of the hole, reconnect your suction hose to the nozzle and cleanup the bottom of the hole...This works!

Hi, I've dredged since 1978. You need two hands, don't jam the nozzle, let the material come to the nozzle and pick out the trouble rocks before they get to it. Good luck

On your go pro the bike holder could work by putting it on the handle as I have used them on a spearfishing gun, it follows the shot and you don't have to hold it, frees up your other hand. And glad that you are enjoying New Zealand as it's a lovely country and being born and raised here I can tell you that you are in our little bit of paradise. Ki Ora.

Enjoying your cool gold dredging video in New Zealand, way out from Brazil - greetings! Please, keep your videos up, thanks! I just got subscribed to your channel. Suggestion: Try welding a V shape wire, on the dredge nozzle, the V point out, as to avoid too large rocks getting stuck in the nozzle. I hope it will be helpfull.
@illernpiller8 ай бұрын
Weld on a piece of metal half an inch in front of it. Don't make a cross or such as that will restrict too much. You will need to move a few more rocks by hand but you are very unlikely to get any jams.
@goldgarage8384 Жыл бұрын
Holy heck! You are right! It is very hard to film and make the videos interesting when dredging. When I have a partner it helps out.
@tutordave Жыл бұрын
But do you find more sniping? And is the cost of the equipment, fuel, and repair worth the difference if you do get more dredging? Seems like your sniping skills are way better than dredging.
@Stubby0266 Жыл бұрын
Weld a stangoff ring, slighlty smaller diameter than the nozzle end about 1/4 to 3/8 inch away from the end of the nozzle. This is allow water continue to flow into the nozzle if a big rock blocks the end. I found by disturbing the water flow over the sluice, due to clogged nozzle end, will cause gold to wash out of the sluice once the flow is reestablished . Look at the other guy's nozzle end.
