If modern country music sounded like Red & the boys I'd be a fan.

I initially thought you had a typo when I saw "bassist Swade". Having seen the band numerous times in the '80's, I knew the bassist to be "Slade" (aka Charles Sawtelle). But of course, after his death in 1998, Bryan Sutton joined the band as their new bassist Swade (aka Swayde). In any event, they were a great band back in the '80's -- the group Hot Rize, who they roadied for, never seemed to give them the respect they deserved. I've never been to the Eat Cafe in Wyoming, Montana, nor the home town of Slade in Montana, Wyoming, but I'd like to visit some day, if I can find it.

My favorite band of all time. Met and hung out with them at the Walnut Valley Flatpicking Championships, just outside of Arkansas City, Kansas back around 1980-ish. They were hanging out on the bus of those fancy pants, dressed up, hi-brow boys they roadied for. Told lots of wild stories from the road about those hi-brow boys. I keep expecting a tell-all book to show up one of these days. It would certainly end any possible political career for any of those Warm Rize fellers (think that was their name, can't remember).

I saw these guys a few times at the Winterhawk Bluegrass music festival in upstate New York in the early 90's. They we're always the last band to perform on Saturday night. Definitely the most popular act there! Alison Krauss was the Friday night favorite... she was so young!

Modern country music is just imitation of bad rock with fiddles. AI will eventually eliminate the musicians altogether. Country is about as interesting as any of the Rolling Stones albums made in the 90’s.
