I installed the stereo with my aftermarket sub. It works, but there is now level control to adjust the sub. In the video, you can control the level using ARC, but it's not working with my android.

Not all Android phones get all the features on the ARC App. You should have sub control in the radio. Turn the radio to standby go into the menu and make sure the speaker select is set right.

What does resetting the microprocessor button god for? Will it be destructive and reset all my say sound settings and little options i set up for the unit? Or is it just like the hard reset of say an iphone?

Im having an issue with my Fh-x730bs... my usb drive doesn't show all my files when inserted into the fh-x730bs. It shows about 60% of my music. The files are about 20gb worth of music. My files are all WMA

I have a pioneer fhs501bt...I put it in a van and wire it correctly to the factory herness with a herness adapter...with a volt meter I get 11.8v from my remote wire...after wiring my pre amp,amp ,mono block and fan I get 6.8v...is it my deck not power full enough or power problem?

Can you please help with the wiring for a Pioneer FH-X731BT? The Pioneer harness has a blue and white System Remote wire. The Metra 70-5520 harness has Power Antenna Blue wire. Amp Turn On blue and white wire. Amp Ground black and white wire. Which one on the Metra harness does the Pioneer System Remote wire go to? Ive heard the System Remote wire is for Amp Turn On and also for Power Antenna. The Metra harness has a Orange Illumination wire and a Orange and White Dimmer wire, the Pioneer only has a single Orange and White wire. This is for a 2006 Sonata *without* the factory amp and subwoofer. No other amps are being added, just the radio to the stock door speakers and front door tweeters and has a antenna in the back window glass. I had to buy 2 Metra harnesses and take the Yellow memory wire from one harness and put it into the larger empty slot on the other harness that I will be using because that will match the slot on the cars (Sonata) factory harness where the Power Antenna goes. At least that is what I have read I should do. The Metra harness also has a Brown Phone Mute wire, which the Pioneer does not have. The rest of the wires on the Metra Harness and the Pioneer harness seem to be the same.. 8 wires for the speakers. Red ignition. Yellow Battery. Black Ground.

To answer my own question, if someone might need the answer: FH-X731BT to a Metra 70-5520 for a 2006 Sonata (no amp or subwoofer) On the Metra harness.. Tape or cap off the blue AND the blue and white wire I bought 2 Metra harnesses and I took the Yellow memory wire from one Metra harness and put it into the larger empty slot on the other Metra harness that I will be using, because that will match the slot on the cars (Sonata) factory harness where the Power Antenna goes. If you do not want to buy 2 harnesses, you might be able to use one of the blue wires that are capped/taped off on the Metra harness, but the open slot is larger than the slot with the blue wires. After that all the other wires on the Metra harness and Pioneer harness all match up according to color. The exception is the Orange on the Metra harness goes to the Orange and White on the Pioneer harness. The Metra harness package states the color codes for these wires BUT the Metra harness does not even actually have them on the harness. Brown phone mute black white amp ground orange and white dimmer

Question - when using a good old ipod as a usb source, do you have the choice like older pioneer decks within the settings to operate the ipod itself to play music or search the ipod library from the head unit? I have always found the head unit's searching menu to be lacking so that's a major concern.

+Daniel Saucedo the video radios do have a 4volt preamp output for better sound. Feature wise they are almost identical now. These are a real good deal if you do not need a screen.

Brownienterprises no bother, yes we use a tape measure to get the Distance. Then we play with the channel volume next to get that right. Lastly we do any fine tuning of the EQ.

Got one of these installed today. Sounds great but the illuminated keys have already shit themselves after only having it in for about an hour. It's like a 50/50 split. The left side is white and the ride side is pink. Looks like I should of went with alpine :(

It does do multi color multi zone. You can choose what color you want. Go into the main menu and choose illumination- select all zones

+Five Star Car Stereo yeah I had a play around. The problem is the colour is different from left to right, so if you rule a line vertically down the face of the unit, the left side is illuminated with white and the right is pink and I can't seem to change it. It just happened by itself.

Excellent review and good lookin radio for the price. The question I have is I plan on installing this radio in a work truck. If I sync my contacts to the radio will they stayed stored if someone else is driving my truck? I don't think it will be a big issue I just don't want all my stuff out there. Thanks.

Try disconnecting the battery for a few minutes and see if resetting the radio wakes it back up. If you are getting sound but no display it is time for a repair.

Five Star Car Stereo im surprised you guys bein to technically sound dont know about it but here goes. all pioneers have a pico fuse iside them that grounds the rca jacks. if you hot swap the rca cables when rhe stereo is switched on or if you hit a bad pothole, this fuse blows and no longer grounds the rca jacks which means you start getting alternator whine, buzzing and switch on and off thumps. i had a 2 month old fhx789bt which is the same as your 731bt. i sold it and got a sony. much happier now.

kunal186 ok yes, that issue. Yeah that is a crap issue. I find it funny they can put a breaker on the remote wire, but not on that. The nice thing is I have not had this issue in years. That means it will happen tomorrow.

It looks complete. The radio does not come with the metal box, but you may not need it. If factory radio has metal mounting brackets on it, you remove and us those. If there is no factory radio mounts then get the box.
