@@mshak395 My Regiment was the Queens Own Highlanders (Seaforth & Cameron) which was formed from the amalgamation of two Highland Regiments, the Seaforth Highlanders and the Queens Own Cameron Highlanders in February 1961. They are now part of the new 4th Bn Royal Regiment of Scotland (The Highlanders). The tune “March of the Cameron Men “ was second the last before March off.

@@RidseardMhicCoinnich yeah,even here soldiers get recruited as early as 16 Then follows the tough training in their respective regimental centres and academies (for officers) and then the enlisted men become Privates after their attestation parade and the officers become Lt. (2nd Lt rank was removed in the Indian army) after their grand passing out parades. I'm sure the British army is very similar.

I have in the past criticised this style of marching, but this display has certainly impressed me. Difficult enough playing the pipes but this has taken it to another level. The bass drummer has certainly got some energy. Good luck in the competition

This is Assam Rifles, Assam regiment is different , insignia of Assam regiment is Rhino , and two crossed khukuri with askoka on top is Assam Rifles, Gorkha regiment is totally different infantry regiment , Assam Rifles comes under MHA and rest two mentioned under MOD

@@Qstudio899 hahahah, my father is Subedar Major in 10 sector Assam Rifles NAGALAND, , he served in 5 Assam rifles (pancham) which was one of the earliest battalion of AR and which helped His Holiness Dalai Lama to escape from tibet and received in india , , then 44AR ( NO FEAR) , 31 Ar, then he was in HQ of AR DGAR laitkor Shillong, where i did my studies and was in Assam rifles quarter for 6 years, and there are 46 battalions in AR not 43 and Assam Rifles is not exactly an regiment, it is Para military force which comes under Ministry of Home Affairs and not Ministry of Defence, Assam Regiment and Assam Rifles are different . . Now you tell me from where did you get all these false information???? 😂

Now that’s a real para military ! This is a story about 7yrs ago when I was in 6th standard and my sister was in 3rd standard when My father was a commandant in the BSF and I always thought that BSF is also a para military ! But once when my father was posted in Mizoram as the commanding officer of 90 battalion BSF , we were invited by 47th battalion of the Assam rifles for their raising day as chief guests including the DIG BSF SHQ and DGP police (IPS AIZAWL) . This was the exact pipe band that was welcoming us to the evening party . I still remember , getting out of the BSF Innova alloted to my father and these guys out of no where just came and started marching with us while my father and my mom were walking together and me and my little sister were walking behind them 😅😂 , it was like a president or someone is coming . When my father entered the party location , all the officers of Assam rifles stood up as my father was almost senior to all of them being the commanding officer of the battalion . But this never happened in BSF ! I mean this piper band and everything is not there in the BSF . In the BSF when we have officer’s family partied in the officer’s mess , there are only two guards in the ceremonial uniform to salute while getting out of the car . But everything has its own speciality . Then is when my father told me that BSF ain’t a para military rather it is a capf . Only the Assam riffles and the coast guard is para military . Jai hind ❤

My good friend, There is no paramilitary in India. Coast guard is another branch of armed Forces that works in close coordination with Navy. Assam Rifles come under CAPF just like BSF and CRPF. Before 2011 BSF was also known as Paramilitary but renamed as CAPF to solidify IPS lobby. My Father also serves in CRPF. BSF is highly disciplined forces, closely on the lines of Army. The culture you mentioned is different coz of different command. Army and IPS command affect their child organisation. BSF and other CAPFs are paramilitary in structure.

@ yeah mate ! You are right !!😅 thanks to point it out , anyways , Yes! The IPS commands that happen in the CAPF’S is totally fucked up . Promotions are like in every 11 yrs or something ! That means , if a person joins (let’s say ) the BSF as a direct entry officer , that is after Clearing the upsc capf exam , they become assistant commandants , then in approx 28-30 yrs , they will have only 3 promotions , max to max a C.O. an they get retired . Whereas they should be given the priority to get promoted first as they have more experience about the borders . Well anyways ! Things that has to happen will happen .
