Hi, from reverse engineering point of view I think the internal surface of your's pipe connector looks horribly waved :-) in place of five bolts flange. Of course this is reflection of existing surface but it should be done manually more "fluent" don't you think so? IMHO we are making digital copy to produce such stuff as a spare one - now we must know what methode we will choose: 3D printer? Or moulding maybe? Or welding flanges to shaped pipe? Never mind - the pipe interior must be smooth as much as possible and not wrinkled as sea surface :-) Apart that your video and explaining DesignX are fantastic and very helpful to understand how DX works!

I do not think you noticed that area is supposed to be like that because of the bolt access. This does prove your comment correct about knowing what you are doing before you approach anything. If you knew this had bolts that hold this on you might not have made the comment. The part is designed this way on purpose.
