sometimes super irritating lol. we have an old rigid threader and that thing is a hoss. really it's the die are bad. but one day they cut fine, the next I have to scrap my pieces cuz the threads get all jacked up lol.

My employer sent me this exact Milwaukee threader to do 2”. I was immediately thinking, this thing is going to struggle. I was completely wrong. Just as much balls as a corded one. Great tool!

That stabilizer clamp would have been nice to have back in the day. All we had on site was a rope to slip around the handle. It was always a good laugh watching the green hands go for a ride when they'd forget to use it on larger pipe.

I have a Ridgid 700 all you have to do is screw a 1/2" x 6" nipple into the threader a put a pipe wrench on the pipe

Actually the thread is lopsided lol, problem with this tool, is unless the user is perfect, (we’re all human haha) the threader is usually held on a slight angle and when you get down to the last few threads you might have some trouble, not a big deal, definitely easier for portable applications then the 300, so I get it. I hate hauling that beast in and out of a 5 ton every other day, but nothing beats the cleanliness of the threads. Also, make sure to use lots and lots and lots of cutting oil, a constant stream just like cutting concrete but instead of water, cutting oil, you probably super heated your threads and burnt them out.

That Milwaukee set up along with the dies that aren't included with the tool cost over $3500. Harbor freight has a threader that goes up to 2 inch and comes with a full set of dies and works just as good for just over $400.

At my shop we’re using mule tape or mule rope to hold down our threader (pony) with a ton of force behind it and it’s scary lol I like that he’s using a vice to hold it down👌🏼

Good for you guys. As a gas engineer myself and doing all the gas pipes i can tell that we in UK cant buy this tool. Its only in US market for some reason. And also this fitting that you screw on at the end in UK is illegal to use as a socket. Its only a threat protector..

That particular pipe was used in a hydronic heating system (boiler). It can be used for gas, air or oil as well.

Wouldn’t be cheaper to buy a rigid 300 or nothing, the only perk is being able to easily thread an already installed stub for repair

I have a 300, the problem is with a service truck this tool takes up way less space and is 10X easier to carry in and out of a job for repairs etc so the 300 is great for large jobs but for periodic use this is a preferred tool on the truck.

That 300 takes up too much space; it's way heavier, etc. And one man can use that Milwaukee cordless threader with ease, and he doesn't need help. Technology is one of those things we will be forced to embrace or be left behind.

Hahaha, true that but honestly all trades have inconsiderate installations. It's really a product of the approach of most construction in America....if it's not specified in a master building plan then it is like the wild west. It's up to the building owner to be on top of how installs and renovations are done but few owners know any better to monitor such a thing.
