Sorry for the late reply . Shock covers came from eBay . Be aware with stock exhaust you will instantly melt the right rear cover. May look funny but best to leave it pulled down a couple of coils on the spring away from the pipe . I found this out the hard way!

Was the tune hard to get right? I have the 2020 sportsman 1000s and about to get the dual rjwc exhaust and pv3 tuner. Have never had to use a tuner before so was wondering was it difficult for you? By the way the bike sounds nice!!!
@davidb82313 жыл бұрын
Thanks man . If you call or email ryan @rvs he will hook you up. If you order the tuner and tune from him. He will clear it of all the generic djt tunes . When you get the tuner you’ll hook it to the port and sync it with the quad and it’ll download all the info from the atv onto the tuner. You’ll then hook it to your computer and load 2 files from the tuner. Then you will email him those files along with whatever pipe/filter etc etc that you are running and he will then send you a tune . By email . With the tuner hooked to the laptop you’ll move the file from the email over to the tuner . I believe it was as simple as right click drag and drop it in pv3 file. He makes it easy ! Either himself or someone that works there will email and walk you through it or you can call. And they are fast! I ordered mine on like a Monday and got Wednesday. Reason I say use rvs is he’s the most familiar with these quads and the tunes because he dyno tunes them daily . Iv heard the rjwc dual pipe setup gets real hot on the left side tho. You can change it back to stock at any time in like 2 minutes . You can also have him custom tune like myself I had him leave rev limiters stock. But got everything else included in the tune which is a lot of changes .

@davidb82313 жыл бұрын
Just now seen your comment for some reason. Not sure on exact number . But when you can feel it by seat of the pants . Then it’s usually a pretty good gain..I think on average a tune and good pipe will get you around 10% increase. It’s not so much, more hp as it is throttle response . With the timing pulled up the power on tap comes in faster which will make it feel like much more of a gain than it really is. Either way still money well spent .

Two questions do you have to wait after break in period before dynojet programmed. And can u take off the programmer after program or do it have to stay on?
@davidb82313 жыл бұрын
I would wait till break in or at least close just be on safe side so dealer can’t blame it for any break downs. I changed my oil n filter the day I put mine on . I think I only had like 15hrs on it or something .I broke mine in hard tho. I didn’t hold it wide open for like a minute at time but I don’t baby them. Lazy break in can sometimes make a lazy motor but that’s just my preference . And no you can take off the tuner as soon as it does the flash tune.

Whats the difference between the Power Vision to the Power Commander V ? Having a hard time finding a comparison and wanting to do a tuner for my 21 Highlifter 850
@davidb82313 жыл бұрын
I’m pretty sure the power commander is just a piggyback controller . And the pv3 is a flash tuner . Tuning is pretty much unlimited with the pv3 you can make your own or just pay and download them. Just depends on what you want or need. If all your doing is pipe and air filter and don’t want it to be lean then the power commander is fine. Me personally I wouldn’t spend money on one of those. For the price difference which isn’t much you can change things up later. Change rpm limits/fan on-off temps/ Speedo calibrate/tunes and a lot more with the pv3 . Or you can go back to all stock tune in less than 5 minutes .plus the pv3 is way more simple to install . Just plugs into the obd port . No other wires needed. No taking plastics off and unhooking stuff.

@davidb82312 жыл бұрын
I keep missing everyone's comments I'm like a year late on most of them. Anyways, I ordered the dynojet "clamshell" mount. This fits any GoPro mount perfectly . I had a box full of different, knockoff GoPro mounts and just picked one that worked. I removed a screw in the pod and just used a longer screw with the mount. No drilling required this way .

I actually plan on doing this soon. I had a video at the time I posted this but because of the secondary I wasn’t getting anywhere near max rpm. Now I am after the new secondary spring . This last weekend just playing around I got to 73 and still had some rpm left to go but left off. So I’m guessing mid 70. I’ll use gps soon and hopefully get accurate video . Not a race bike but does pretty good for a heavy 850 .

@@davidb8231 sounds good! Do you notice a difference with the tune in the bottom end of the power? Does it want to lift wheelies more?

@@bikingwithryan5968 yes it gave it a decent gain pretty much everywhere . It’s definitely way more responsive now . It’ll wheelie in high pretty easy now. And in low it’ll power wheelie pretty much anytime you need it. It’s still rich at the moment because I still have the oem filter and probably dirty one at that. If you notice the fuel smoke in the video that’s the reason for that . Overall I’m happy with it. I didn’t do the tune and pipe for performance as much I did for heat and longevity .
