If the thought of "pathogenic bacteria" in the whirlpool tub you have in your bathroom freaks you out, allow me to direct your attention to that beautiful lake you may have been swimming in, or the river you went kayaking in. Seriously, you're gonna have a hard stressful life if you flip out every time bacteria might be present in your environment. And don't even get me started on your toothbrush.

Modern tubs have a built in ultra violet light which kills bacteria and an ozone cleaning system to purify the water. After the tub drains an automatic back-flush system dries the plumbing. They also have a non-porous service which prevents soap scum build-up and eliminates the need to scrub the tub. A cup of bleach or vinegar a few times a year is still a good idea but jetted tubs have come a long way in recent years and are safe to use!
@mrs.bissonnette74982 жыл бұрын
How recently have they “come along way”? Some of our tubs may be older than others. Any specific brands that you’re referring to?

I got a walk-in tub because I had a stroke in 2007. I chose a soaker tub. No bells and whistles, just a basic tub because I didn't need the hassle of having to clean the air/water jets. I made a great choice.

Our Jacuzzi uses the two step system where you add a chlorine/bleach type of product after a bath and let the jets circulate it. Then you release all the water. Fill up with cold and then run the jets again and drain the tub. After that the tub is sparkling so I only guess the pipes are as well.
@dawsonjorgensen35213 жыл бұрын
They never mentioned chlorine, that's what swimming pools use lol they have jets, I would do a regular routine once a month and fill tub with hot water and dump a highly concentrated chlorine mixture into the tub and let it run.

@SpasplashCoUkhydro8 жыл бұрын
+222Dargent The solution is to buy the right product. However I appreciate it can be difficult to know who to believe as a customer. We sell and manufacture hot tubs and spa baths. Our Spa Baths for example have a heated O-zone blower, which means the water is being sanitized whilst in use and the drying cycle will also sterilize. System drain wastes take care of any other lurking water. Antibacterial fittings, check valves to stop water getting in the air lines...i could go on.

My daughter got sudden horrible rashes/ eczema when we moved last year . Surprise surprise it was a jetted tube . I cleaned it and cleaned and disgusting 🤮 stuff came out , but I realized that not matter how well I cleaned I could never get fully inside cleaned . I stopped giving my daughter baths and the rashes stopped ! Since we have moved and she now gets regular baths in a normal bath tub and she never had the rashes or itchiness on skin again ! I truly believe it was the gunk built up in the pipes of the jetted tub . My ex swore it was clean until I took a toothbrush to one of the jets and out came black gunk and hair and nastiness , he believed me after that but still told me to just run the cleaner through it . Which I did with both whole bottles and it still wouldn’t run clean . But his problem now not mine ! Gross I would never rent buy or bath in a jetted tub ever again in my life ! As I’ve cleaned them and seen that they’re part that you cannot get inside to clean and thus they are nasty disease 🦠 spreaders no thanks 🤢

This is a very poor production as it provides no solution. PhD's in my personal and opinion experience are highly educated, but sometimes lack basic common sense solutions, because common sense is never part of their education. What would have been useful here is to find the best cleaning methodologies - with tested results as a comparison. There are body oils, soaps, and residue including skin, dirt and residues from chemicals, which all need to be dealt with. I am sure there are combination products that can mitigate in the cleaning and hygene restoration process. It would have been good to have these included in this clip.

+SpaSplash Ltd Yeah sorry for that comment. After a little more research it seems I was in error to assume that. It works in toilet bowls, but pipework which has the same water sitting for long periods goes stagnant and is resistant to flushing away. This is the reason I looked no further into getting one of these baths. Too much aggro. I would still like the LED lights though.
