My TACO SR503 Switch Relay circuit board got fried the same day Eversource shut power off to my house for 25 minutes while doing work in the neighborhood. Repair was $750.00. Furnace is 16 years old. Could it possibly be a power surge?

Hey Mikey, hilarious how much ROTFL, and not being “hi” makes it even better (chemically in brain I’ve read…..). Anyways, don’t ya love the ppl that when doing scheduled maintenance call on systems like this or “worse” that 1 hr after leave get a call saying you broke our system & was working before got here and now we have “xyz issues”…. 🤦🏼 UGH, like the copper or cast iron/lead pipes that are so old and worn, just walking up to them calmly, delicately, and with the grace of a seasoned ballerina will result in the “Pipes” to wink at you and start cracking, falling, leaking, and bursting in places weren’t anywhere near; all while [They] are laughing at you and saying “dumb ass”🤣😉 Just so enjoy those jobs, which thankfully have dropped off over years, but on occasion ya get “one of them!” 😳😱 Keep up great job, cheers

Thanks for the video, Mikey, once again you fixed someone's jury rigged mess. Loved the idea of the air compressor on the pressure tank.Another Lube Tuber would have wrestled it off and had water everywhere and complained how heavy it was.

while that often works and empties, some times the bladder has holes and collapses against the inlet and blocking off the water flow when pressurized. that traps all the water behind the bladder where it shouldn't be anyway. then it just keeps whizzing out slowly and still weighs a ton, granted it's not as bad on the smaller models and others without bolt on plate and replaceable bladder. I don't think anyone ever replaced them anyway, because the tank was usually rusted inside and would chew the new bladder in no time. I replaced exactly one bladder in the last 30 years, the rest always ended up being whole expansion tanks.

They must have been paid by the 90's. Quite the job. Expansion tank waterlogged ? 35 + pounds if full. Love your method of draining the tank. I have been known to drop tank on top of boiler and cause a dent on it. That is why I install them not over the boiler just for that one reason. Would have changed the Taco 400 while the boiler was drained . I also install a t- handle gas valve before the expansion tank
