Great video. My dad owned 2 Colts and my brother and I both learned to fly in these awesome little planes. 36 gallons of fuel with 710 lb useful load. Everyone should own one.

This video lifted my spirits frequently as I was in the final stages of my career, dreaming of the day I could fly my Tri-Pacer around the country. Now I'm retired and living that dream. WONDERFUL video!

Started my flight training on this wonderful plane. Woefully underpowered but predictable in flight characteristics. Knocked the pollen off the cedar trees flying out of experimental a flying club in Carver, MA on a hot day. Short dogbone runway for cranberry bog spraying. As my unflappable flight instructor says: " aw, just take the wings off if you have to crash, you'll be OK."

First of all its St. Louis** and second its a filming optical illusion. All FAR's were followed on this flight and coordination with ATC was accomplished

@@F84Thunderjet it’s all in the filming technique. The Piper was actually about a mile east of the arch durning filming and with the filming aircraft slightly above makes the Piper appear lower than it actually is. I spend a lot of time thinking about catching the cool angles :)
