Cool thing about a Cub? In the Midwest during the summer there is some kind of fly-in within a 100 miles every other weekend. Champ fly-in, EAA homebuilder's fly-in, a sail-plane meet, whatever. The Cub is welcome at any of them. And you usually get parked with the planes de jour. Everyone loves the Cub. I was a young guy 1st flying the Cub in the early 1980's. Most of the WW2 guys who flew in the airlines had just had mandatory retirement. I hit a lot of fly-ins and it was a constant that little groups or pairs of 60-ish looking guys would make a bee-line for the Cub. It was a real privilege to hear their stories of learning to fly in the Cub and what came next. It makes me smile now to remember how often, while we were talking, they would walk around the airplane clock-wise checking hinge pins and strumming the tail wires for tone. We would circle the plane and I would point out that they had just pre-flighted it. "Oh gosh, you are right. Old habits..." Such great and humble men. They are mostly gone now. Thank you for the privilege, guys. Thank you for everything.

Nice video! Enjoyed it all. Where in Florida does Chase fly? I am in Alabama, have and love flying a J3, and always looking for grass strips....

Thanks for commenting! Chase flew out of Ormond Beach OMN and there are several grass strips in the area. Pierson 2J8 is a personal favorite of mine.
