What's right back then, that's missing today imo- the business was presented as more sport than entertainment. It felt like championships were really being chased, storylines were built, championships could change hands at house shows, and rivalries were really heated. But, that's just what I think.
@kentonkruger8333 Жыл бұрын
Kayfabe money is the biggest missing component these days. These guys are supposed to be there to earn a living, so being champion means more money, getting fines for breaking the rules (run in attacks, etc) means less money, getting suspended means less money, winning matches means more money. And it helps the other way too. This rivalry is so heated I'll take the fine for punching him backstage, I want to get my hands on him so bad I'll take an unsanctioned (therefore unpaid) match. The earnings used to be such a key component in the storytelling.

+JohnBlack2345 Yea, now there called "International Objects." And I'm like, whatever. I'm so glad that I used the smarts the good Lord gave me, I stopped watching that crap. And by that crap, I'm referring to the wrestling that's on TV today, cos its nothing but a garbage dump snooze fest. This video here however, is CLASSIC!!! But I sure's hell cant say that about the crap they have on TV these days. I'll pass.

My totally old-school-biased top "5", imho: RP and Nature Boy are interchangeable as THE top two of all time. The other 3 places go to The Rock/Stone Cold (tied), Hogan/Savage/Warrior (3-way tied), and maybe Snuka/Foley/Shawn Michaels/'Taker (4-way tie). Honorable mentions (or maybe just a whole other list) for Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, Bob Backlund, Rob Van Dam, Super Crazy, Eddie Guerrero, and Terry Funk. Sorry, you can call me indecisive if you want-there's way too much talent in the classic roster.
