If you don't know the PT6 is a free turbine meaning the propeller shaft is separate to the compression and exhaust sections. That's why the prop spins slowly when he started the engine. Someone in another video suggested you can hold the prop when doing a compressor wash on a PT6 but if you did so with a TPE331 the torque would take you off your feet

Music is terrible, hard to understand the words. If I want to hear music, I turn on the radio. I stopped watching after 20sec., especially when he is not talking into the camera.

A pair of surplus stand-up 2 gal. fire extinguishers that came with air fill point & gauges, easily modified with 10ft or so hoses & quick connectors work well for me. With a long enough hose it's a 1man job, as you can bring the extinguisher into the cockpit.

Hi, Jay. That is a nice plane. I was luck to be able to go on a ride with my kids back in the late 80's. My friend had a 4 person Piper. We flew from Creve Coeur to some place in IL for lunch. It was amazing to fly so low to see things in it also. Have fun. E :)

It is not a power recovery wash in the hot section area. It is a compressor chemical cleaning of the cold section only. It has been my experience that if enough deslaination washes of the compressor and compressor turbine are accomplished you will not have to do a power recovery wash. By the way I hope you had the power section drain plug out , but it did not look like it. And also a post run is required to dry the engine per P&W PT6A-42A Maintenance manual chapter 71-00-00.

Thought that there was more to it! What about removing the P3 filter and the canister drain under the engine? Must it not be run afterwards so all the water residue can evaporate?
