Hey! Nice work. I Fly out of Mason KTEW. I’m doing my check ride prep right now. I totally know what you mean about facing your fears. I was a wannabe pilot for 30 years but because of fear and money, I kept putting it off and now at age 40 I’m finally getting my PPL. No better feeling than facing your fears and conquering them. Still can’t shake the fear of engine failure right after takeoff, but I still go up as often as I can lol. I have a video on my channel about my first solo and I talk a lot about facing your fear. Good luck in your aviation journey and fly safe! Maybe we will cross paths sometime since we share the same sky.

Nice work man! I can tell you really prepared. Just starting my training and have a major fear of being in that PA28 solo in the busy airspace here in FL!

Noticed you said you were going slow compared to plan a couple times. My guess is because it looks like you're running about 2100-2200 RPM and I imagine you planned TAS for more than that, maybe around 2300-2400. That's a good looking panel too! Also, do that brake check BEFORE taxing. Good job at keeping altitude, had that pretty much pegged at 3,500.

Thank you for that advice! I think you may be correct about the RPM setting that was throwing my calculations off, maybe that and a tad bit stronger headwind than accounted for. At any rate thank you for that advice, and the view!

I'm obviously not the one who posted the video, but I do have a PPL. First things first, just find a local flight school. I recommend going through Part 61 schools and paying as you go. Don't take out a big loan if you can help it. They will be able to train you and get you going. It's good to watch flying videos and stuff, but really there is no substitute for an in-person instructor. So just google the nearest flight school to you and go check it out.

just as @martyadams5551 said, the best way to get into flight training is to first save up some money, and I would then recommend to go to your local airport that has a flight school, and to schedule something called a discovery flight! Sometimes you just have to take that first leap of faith, and go for your dreams! Keep a positive mindset you can do anything that you set your mind to! I was unsure and in your same position at one point, and I know if I can do it, then you can to!
