The crazy part is that Annette o'toole (Martha) is almost 8 years older than the actor who plays Johnothon. So Clark was really 24 when the show started, johnothon was like 41 and Martha was like 49ish. She looked so much younger than she was.

When I watch these scenes and the dynamic that was there with John Schneider and Annette OToole I miss that element of the series, and wish that it was still there. I know that Clark had to grow up but that didnt mean that the family dynamic needed to end so soon into his manhood. It was a compelling part of the series that couldve continued in a meaningful way. Take care. Peace To All

Damn I miss this show! The first 5 seasons were a blast..specially with the younger Clark Kent and his supporting cast. For me Lex Luthor and his dad Lionel Luthor were the best actors of the entire show that made this show complete. It was cut off too soon and with poorly scripted episodes in the later seasons. Like they were rushing to close it down...what a waste. Zod with a Brit accent and a tiny body, same story with Braniac and no sign of any other serious evil villain, and Clark becoming more stupid and naive in the later seasons trying to being righteous (more like a preachy devout Christian) rather than a logical superhero...
@thefearofg0ds7583 жыл бұрын
I'd say Seasons 1 - 3. Quality of the writing started to dip when Alfred Gough and Miles Miller left after Season 3 and they started just throwing in randoms from Superman's rogues gallery just to keep ratings up.
@silvore642 жыл бұрын
The first three seasons were great, four and five were really good to me but not as good as the first three. season 6 is arguably my favorite but towards the last few episodes it starts to get a little boring. season 7 is good but the worst so far. Strangely I really like season 8 because I do like the concept with doomsday and other things, but I understand that they took away so many characters that were around since the first season that was my biggest complaint. By season 9 it hit Rock bottom for me, although I do think the last season is better then 9 but still worse then 7. Smallville even counting the entire series as a whole I still think it's a great series. I do have a lot of complaints about it, but what the series gave me was something that I will always be thankful for.

@thefearofg0ds7582 жыл бұрын
@@spencergsmith they stopped writing/directing episodes after Season 3(though I believe they directed one episode of season 4). After Season 3 they stepped back creatively and were merely producers. It's why the quality of the series dipped(pretty jarringly) after those first 3 seasons. I remember watching Season 4 way back then and thinking "....something is off". I looked into it and saw they weren't as involved in the writing anymore at that point.
