I don't think it is. I've seen this sort of thing used even in non-parasocial situations. They compare whatever dumb banal thing you're doing to actual physical violence, because it's much easier to paint you as a bad person for murdering trans people than it is playing the game. It's cry-bullying, plain and simple. I've worked with kids a fair bit and you notice it a lot with certain kids. Something doesn't go their way? They feel 'sick', the person who doesn't let them have their way makes them feel anxious, they need whatever is causing them discomfort to go away RIGHT NOW. Why do Vtubers or just streamers seem to be so effected by what a couple dozen or maybe hundred people have to say on Twitter? Is there just something im not getting? Cause going as far as cancelling streams like in Pikamees case seems so excessive.
