It was kinda over blown at the time, cuz a lot of it was more due to the fact a lot of places were already pretty underfunded to begin with. So more people didn't help. Created higher competition in the job market too, but the UK is fairly nationalist, so most employers would still prefer getting a UK national anyways. So those weren't as bad as it came off either Tl;Dr is that immigration was part of it, but there were bigger issues and it ultimately wasn't a big part of the problem. It was pushed a lot as part of the Brexit support movement though. But the effects were smaller than advertised. Brexit is incredibly based because I get to have a Nimi Nightmare plushie without the EU burning it. But anyway, long story short, Brexit happened because people got tired of the EU and the politicians. The way we saw it, leaving the EU means 90% of politicians ruling over our country get the boot. Now we have Kier Starmer but replace the rmer with lin, and apparently as a loner in my bedroom, I'm now the biggest threat to national security in this country. Basically we're tired of our politicians. Being EU means having more politicians. Thus Brexit. And thanks to that, I get my beloved Nimi Nightmare plush.

So it was basically a slur for the disposed catholic Irish for a while, and then as a pejorative for the conservatory or the party attempting to conserve the monarchy or the state or the status quo. "Conservative" didn't actually refer to left or right politics by definition, only to the existing politics. A left leaning conservative movement arose in the soviet union to resist the movement towards freemarkets and away from a centrally planned economy among more tangible changes. The same ideas can be left, right, center, conservative, or progressive, depending on your perspective. These terms are all relative. Party nicknames and mascots are often assigned by the opposition that made more of an effort to associate that with the party. The democrats gained the donkey when Andrew Jackson was compared to one. The mensheviks name meant "minority" even when they were the majority because Lenin called them the minority party and called his own minority party the majority party or "Bolsheviks."

Leaving the EU wasn't a bad idea. The EU is a mess. That being said, UK leadership utterly failed afterward. UK had a chance to become something special in Western Europe but instead leadership was inept. Now the UK has infinite migrants, a censorious state, a shit economy, AND none of the benefits of being part of the EU. It's literally the worst case scenario. UK is unironically slowly becoming a Western NK at this rate... maybe even less functional if things continue. These so called "gaming-journalists" are not only working against the consumer (gamers), but now are actively attacking them and therefor working not for the gamers but against the gamers. For like a decade now companies have pushed DEI in order to boost their ESG-scores, to get more of that juicy ESG-money. DEI is nothing more than the "S" [Social] in ESG and it's the main tool uaed by companies to boost their scores. Consultants like SBI (SweetBabyInc) only get hired and even exist in the fiest place for that very reason. In the process of pushing DEI they have filled their companies (especially gaming companies) with DEI hires and activists. They have burned out and pushed out their exiting talent in favour of money. During that they put these DEI hires / activists into leadership positions, so now the talent inside these companies not only have to teach, take care and fix the DEI hires problems, but also listen to such unqualified people. They also took over the HR department and thus changed the entire culture at the company. They made the entire work-culture controlled, sensitive and extremly toxic as a result. Anyone that isn't thinking like them, is seen as a enemy. Now their Idiology is being pused into the product itself aka games or movies. These people don't care about the product they create or the IP they took over, thes people tend to only care about pushing their Idiology onto others and have control and powers over others. In the process of all of that the quality of the product they create has taken a drastic hit and the consumers aren't blind to it anymore, because it has gotten that bad. This is GamerGate2. It goes FAR beyond gaming. The whole gaming journalists being extremly anti gamers and giving positive reviews for review access was already part of GamerGate1, but it just got way worse. All these Journos as connected with each other, it's like a extremly tight circle and consultants like SBI were born from it later on. It's insane you have been blind to all of this for like almost a decade now. It's pushed into every aspect of life resulting in insane cases that could even affect your own life, just look at the Californian- Firedepartment-Ad. It's completely insane and probably your own company is already hiring based on DEI and pushing mandatory DEI training on its workers. It's pretty common around the world.

Brexit means brexit. Luv me cuntry, luv me pies, 8 forriners. But US Pippa got the idea but failed in the details. The EU was very much seen as a foreign governing body trying to thr itself into a united States of Europe. Not something the majority of the British people wanted to see. David Cameron was the prime minister when the vote was put forward, it was seen a a political power play to throw Nigel Farrage into politic turmoil, but little did he know he was the one out of touch. Cameron Stepped down and was later replaced by Theresa May and then Boris Johnson. Maggy Thatcher was also hated by thr north, she was the prime minister in the 1980s. The votes were very much split between north and south, the north very much felt like they were being left out in the cold in favour of a foreign population being installed into their towns and cities while they were losing jobs and unable to afford basic needs. It's one of the most distinct differences in the general public seen in recent years the voting graphs are quite fascinating to see.

THANK YOU. When that movie came out I was fucking furious because I knew, I KNEW that most Americans don’t actually read history and that stupid movie would form their brain’s primary impression of Honest Abe. Over and over since then I have been vindicated.

Love how it managed to evolve in to how many babies one can have in 12 years and Boris's johnson. Was a great collab. 😄

Fair play to Pipkin Pippa she was actually pretty close and just got the details mixed up which is understandable giving how much was going on at the time. 2013: 1980's era Prime Minister Margaret Thatcher passed away. The South of the country mourned her, the North celebrated and partied (she was very controversial in the United Kingdom. Loved by the South, despised by the North!) Press F or S depending on where in the UK you live and what sort of "class" you are in... 2014: Scotland had their referendum and voted in favour of remaining a part of the United Kingdom. A major part of Scotland remaining was the worry that if they left, they would be immediately out of both the United Kingdom and the European Union and would then have to negotiate with both the European Union and the remainder of the United Kingdom. Little did they (or Westminster) know... They were in for a massive surprise two years later... 2016: The United Kingdom had their referendum and voted in favour of leaving the European Union. Following the then Prime Minister David Cameron's almost immediate resignation, Theresa May was then picked and won an election to become Prime Minister. (also in 2016, Donald J Trump becomes President of the United States of America. Many memes were had and many tears were shed between these two major events). 2020: After many years of political ring-around-the-rosies, the United Kingdom officially left the European Union under Prime Minister Boris Johnson who took over from Theresa May. At this point most people on both Remain and Brexit were expecting the government to quietly delay independance endlessely before phasing it out completely. Boris Johnson's government shocked a lot of people by actually delivering on independance.

I like how we know exactly where you stand from your use of "independence".

The conservative and labour uniparty never delivered on brexit, by refusing to separate us from EU legislation nor their institutions. We are still subject to their policies and the ones set up to abide by them have not been removed, instead the uniparty slaved us to even more extreme regulations and enhanced these so called 'protections', while also still having an open border. It was a brexit in name only and nothing else and the traitors in whitehall and the houses of parliament are more than happy to sell out their countrymen to foreign investors who shower them in money and cushy EU jobs after they have served. Its why voter turnout dipped to an all time low at the most recent elections and why Reform is picking up so much steam, because its become clear to everyone that both labour and the conservative party are BOTH controlled oppositions who at a fundamental agree on the horrendous goals set out by the WEF and their fellow friends at Davos, just that they dont agree on the speed to achieve said goals.

@@Arbitertaco If anyone launches pejoratives at you over the WEF/Davos remind them that Georgey and Klaus stream on KZbin under the "World Government Summit" channel. When people call me a conspiracy theorist I just have to cringe at this point because the malicious people are so open about it that they have their own KZbin channels now. Donald Trump _just_ broadcasted to them where they told him he'd fall in line or face consequences while he laughed them out of their stadium

I went on vacation to Norway from the Netherlands, didn't even have to identify my self, i just scanned my own ticket, put my own baggage in to the system, and without showing my passport anywhere i was able to go there and back. It's as easy as taking the train to another city, going to the uk on the other hand will be a bit of a pain now

Who was it? I think Lumi, or maybe Lia did some shitty political test and misread Civil War as "War" that gave me a brain Aneurysm at the time. It really seems like these girls are unronically left behind for a reason. Although they are entertaining, so... yeah.

Abraham Lincoln? 1860s Abraham Lincoln? I feel like Pippa missing Margaret Thatcher in the timeline by less than 5 years is a bit different than Abraham Lincoln, some 150+ years off.
